    Ida M. Hall and George Nelvin Smith were united in marriage at 1 p.m. Jan. 11 at Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kent Melcher and the Rev. Donald D. Hines officiated.

    The bride is the daughter of the late Claude and Elsie Anno. The groom is the son of Blanche Smith and the late Nelson Smith.

    Attending the bride and groom were Marilynn and Frank Decker, Ushers were Mike Feldhausen, Rossville, and Toby Harris, Wamego, sons-in-iaw of the groom. Candle- lighters were Erin and Megan Barker, Lecompton, granddaughters of the bride.

    The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School and is retired from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The groom also is a graduate of Highland Park High School and is employed as business manager for Local 3 of the Bricklayers, Masons and Plasterers International Union of America.

    The bride will retain her name.

    Ida M. Anno Hall-Smith
    Ida M. Anno Hall-Smith, 80, of Tecumseh, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 at a Topeka hospital. She was born July 25, 1931, in Topeka, the daughter of Claude D. and Elsie M. Beary Anno. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1949. She lived in Topeka area all of her life. She retired from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Jan. 3, 1992.

    Ida was a 42-year member of the Clarice Chapter 390, Order of the Eastern Star at Wakarusa where she served as past matron in 1973, 1977, 1983 and 1990-1991. She also was a district aide in 1981-1982 and served as a grand page in 1984 and a special grand page in 1991 for the Grand Chapter of the Kansas Order of Eastern Star. She served as past president of the Past District Aides of District 14 and past president and secretary of the Past Matrons and Past Patrons of Topeka District 14. She was also a member of the White Shrine Trinity 7 and the Ancient Toltec Rite Topeka Council 1, both of Topeka. Ida was a member of the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council and served as a service unit coordinator for 17 years for the Shawnee Heights Girl Scouts. She also served on several other Girl Scout committees and was the Jacernee Association chairman for three years. She was a member of the Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, the Wagonears Camping Club, the Carriages Camping Club of Millersburg, Ind., the Wheat State Chapter 43, where she served as president from 2003-2006. In 1998, she was the Kansas State Queen and served as president in 2000-2001 for the Kansas Sunchasers Retirees.

    Ida married Cecil H. Hall on May 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 1984. She later married George Nelven Smith from Rossville, on Jan. 11, 1992. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 2011. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and a great-grand-daughter. Survivors include two daughters and their spouses, Deborah D. and Challan Barker of Maple Hill, Lynnette L. and Michael Weinbrecht of Topeka, two granddaughters, three grandsons, one great-granddaughter, five stepchildren, seven stepgranddaughters, seven stepgrandsons, seven stepgreat-grandchildren, and one sister, Emma Wilson of Tecumseh.

    Services were held Nov. 22 at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel. Burial followed in Zion Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Memorial contributions may be given to the KSU Cancer Center, 1 Chalmers Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506.
