    SHOWER FOR BRIDE-TO-BE
    Mrs. Ruth Hesse and Mrs. Fern Rogers entertained guests Wednesday afternoon, at the latters home, with a miscellaneous shower in honor of Miss Irene Bond, bride-to-be. The afternoon was spent socially with various games and contests. Miss Bond received many lovely gifts. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the refreshments of ice cream and cake.     The marriage of Miss Medora Irene Bond to Mr. Jewell C. Campbell of Kansas City, was quietly solemnized Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the home of the Reverend H.L. Nelson in Topeka.

    Only the members of the immediate families were present and the attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Rogers.

    The bride wore a white knitted dress, a white off-the-face crepe turban, white accessories and a corsage bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Rogers wore a brown sheer dress, brown accessories and a corsage bouquet of Talisman roses.

    The wedding was followed by a family dinner at the Hotel Kansan after which Mr. Campbell and his bride left on their wedding trip. They will motor to Yellowstone National Park and the Teton Mountains, Butte Mont., and Salt Lake City, and will return by way of Colorado.

    They will be at home in Rossville until the middle of September when they will go to Manhattan and Mr. Campbell will be a senior in the department of animal husbandry at Kansas State College. In Manhattan they will make their home at 1031 Moro Avenue.

    Mrs. Campbell attended Washburn College where she was a popular member of Alpha Phi. She received her B.A., B.M., and B.M.E. degrees at Kansas University. Following her graduation she taught public school music in Wilsey and later taught violin and public school music and Montana State Normal College at Dillon, Mont. Last year she taught at Mayetta.

    Mr. Campbell attended Kansas University and Louisiana State University and last year was a student at Kansas State College.

    Irene B. Campbell

    ROSSVILLE -- Irene B. Campbell, 83, Rossville, died Sunday, Dec.26, 1993, at a Rossville nursing home.

    Mrs. Campbell taught music at Western Montana College at Dillon and at Mayetta High School. She also taught private piano lessons many years.

    She was born Aug. 25, 1910, in Rossville, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bond. She was graduated from Rossville public schools and the University of Kansas at Lawrence. She had lived at Rossville most of her life.

    Mrs. Campbell was a member of the United Methodist Church at Rossville, United Methodist Women, and was the church organist and pianist many years.

    She was a former member and worthy matron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321 of the Order of Eastern Star at Rossville and a life member of Loyal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of Eastern Star at Silver Lake. She also was a member of Rossville Literary and Music Circle. She was a member of Alpha Phi sorority at KU and Washburn University in Topeka and Music Study Club of Topeka.

    Her husband, Jewell “Joe” Campbell, preceded her in death.

    Survivors include a daughter, Jan Campbell-Miller, Washington, D. C.; a son, Art Campbell, Rossville; and two grandchildren.

    Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Rossville. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka, where family and friends will meet from 7 until 8 p.m. She later will lie in state an hour before service time Wednesday at the church.

    Mrs. Irene B. Campbell, 83, Rossville, died Sunday, December 16, 1993, at Rossville Valley Manor, Rossville. She was born August 25, 1910 at Rossville, the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bond. She had lived at Rossville most of her life.
    Mrs. Campbell attended Rossville Public Schools and graduated from the University of Kansas at Lawrence. She had taught music at Western Montana College at Dillon, Mont., and Mayetta High School at Mayetta. She had also given private piano lessons for many years.
    She was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church, where she as a member of United Methodist Women and had served as the church's organist and pianist for many years. Mrs. Campbell was a former member and former worth matron of Amaryllis Chapter #321, Order of the Eastern Star at Rossville; and was a life member of Loyal Chapter #176, Order of the Eastern Star at Silver Lake. She was also a member of the Rossville Literary and Music Circle; Alpha Phi Sorority at the University of Kansas and Washburn University; and Music Study Club of Topeka.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell "Joe" Campbell.
    Surviving her are a daughter, Jan Campbell-Miller, Washington, D.C.; a son, Art Campbell, Rossville; and two grandchildren, Heather Renee Campbell and Matthew Lee Campbell, both of Rossville.
    Mrs. Campbell will lie in state after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening. She will lie in state from 9:00 to 10:00 Wednesday morning at Rossville United Methodist Church, where her funeral service will be held. The rev. Kenneth N. Rogers will officiate. Interment will be in Rossville Cemetery.
