  Obituary- Benoit, Dorothy Dorothy H. Benoit Dorothy H. Benoit, 88, of Hoyt, Kan., died Nov. 15, 2012, at Rossville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Rossville. She was born March 16, 1924, in Goff, the daughter of Edward A. and Thresia F. (Sextro) Brucken. She moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1948, to Holton, Kan., in 1970, to Topeka in 1972, and then to Hoyt in 1982. Dorothy was a homemaker and a seam¬stress. Dorothy was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden, where she was a member of the Quilters Guild and the Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and canning. Dorothy married Leon W. Benoit on June 23, 1948, at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Holton. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 1990. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Yvonne Rose Benoit, and six brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her children and their spous-es, Terri Benoit of Parker, Colo., Norman Benoit of Topeka, Denise and Harold Walsh of Allen, Texas, Robert and Suzanne Benoit of Hoyt, and Mary and Larry Boos of Topeka. Ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 19 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden. Interment followed in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the Rossville Healthcare and Rehabili-tation Center Activities Fund, and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW Sixth Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
