    Mahala Jane Skelley
    Mahala Jane Skelley, 87, Topeka, died Monday, July 5, 1993 at a Topeka hospital.

    She was born July 17, 1905, at Soldier, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ellen Kennedy Burget. She lived in Delia until 1961 when she moved to Topeka.

    Mrs. Skelley was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka and Daughters of Isabella Little Flower Circle No. 503.

    She was married to Thomas N. Skelley Aug. 19, 1931, in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett. He died Oct. 20, 1961. A daughter, Alice Ellen Skelley, died Nov. 4, 1938.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane Etzel, Topeka; a sister, Mary R. McNieve, Topeka; and two granddaughters.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Catholic church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys. Mrs. Skelley will lie in state after 10 a.m. today at Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys where a rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today.
