  Obituary- Essman, Patricia Patricia Jane "Patty" Essman Patricia Jane "Patty" Essman, 72, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Midland Hospice House. She was born November 27, 1941 at Richmond, the daughter of Joseph Richard and Mary Belle Rousselo Coffey. Patty moved to Rossville at an early age and graduated from Rossville High School in 1959. She had lived in Texas many years moving back to Kansas this past July. Mrs. Essman was an Insurance Specialist and had worked in the insurance business many years both in Kansas and in Texas. She had worked for Kidney Insurance while living in Rossville both* in the office and from home as she raised her children. Patty was I a member of the Tree of Life Church. She was married to Gerald D. Perry and they divorced. She later married Samuel R. Essman on January 30, 1976. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sheldon Eugene, Mary Lou, Etta, Joseph Richard and Betty Jo. Survivors include her children, Tammy (Chris) Petrocelli, NJ, Sherrie Thomas, Topeka, Tate (Kristy) Perry, Silver Lake, Holly (Scott) Graves, Rossville and Crystal (Narciso) Gomez, TX; step-children, Randy Essman, Terry (Linda) Essman, Keith Essman, Benny Essman and Diane DeHart, all of Topeka; a brother, Fred Coffey, Parker; two sisters, Phyllis Stadler, Rossville and Shirley Kitto, Parker; 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 3:00 Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at the Rossville Bible Church. Inurnment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Essman will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Piper Funeral Chapel in Rossville. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 642, Rossville, Kansas 66533.
