    Miss Trudi Lynne Mee, daughter of Mr. and Lyndon Mee, Maple became the bride of Mr. Gene Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis, Rossville, in a ceremony solemnized Sunday evening, September 1, at 7:30 in the Congregational Church, Maple Hill.

    The Rev. W. E. officiated at the double-ring ceremony. A large bouquet of white gladioli graced the altar. Mrs. Howard Hammarlund, organist, played and accom¬panied Rodney Say, soloist. Taper-lighters were Jan Miller, Maple Hill, Karan Spanier, Copeland.

    The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore floorlength gown of bridal taffeta. The scoop neckline was outlined with of Venice lace, and bridal point sleeves complimented the basque bodice. The soft gathered skirt was styled in two tiers, with the top tier trimmed in matching lace. The back detail consisted of an aisle-wide chapel train. Her elbow-length veil of silk illusion, banded in Venice lace, was caught to a crown of pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses with ivy streamers. Her only jewelry was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom.

    The maid of honor, the bride’s sister, Miss Marcia Mee, and bridesmaids, Miss Roberta Oliver, Maple Hill, and Sydney Nixon of Emporia, wore streetlength gowns of silk brocade in French blue, styled with a fitted bodice and a bell-shaped skirt. The bodice featured a scoop neckline and elbow- length sleeves. Small self-bows accented the skirt. They wore matching blue circlets with short veils and carried bouquets of white mums, blue cornflowers with white streamers.

    Sarah Adams of Plains, was flower girl and wore a white organdy dress with blue sash, and wore blue pom-poms in her hair.

    The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Dean Davis, of Manhattan. Groomsmen were Roy D. Davis, another brother, of Rossville, and Jerry Rice, of Eskridge; Ushers were Baird Miller, Maple Hill; Steve Lucas, Topeka; Donald Rogers, Rossville.

    Immediately following the ceremony a reception was held in the Parish Hall. Miss Cynthia Lucas of Topeka, Mrs. Dean Davis, Manhattan, and Miss Judy Robert, Topeka, presided at the serving table.

    Mrs. Roy D. Davis, Rossville, was in charge of the guest book, and Misses Kathryn Adams and Lana Schulte, Maple Hill, in charge of gifts.

    Mr. and Mrs. Davis are now making their home in Emporia, where they will be juniors at Kansas State Teachers College.

    Mr. and Mrs. Lyndon Mee of Maple Hill announce the engagement of their daughter, Trudi Lynne to Gene L. Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis of Rossville.

    Miss Mee a graduate of Maple Hill High School is a sophomore at Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia.

    Mr. Davis, a graduate of Rossville High School is also a sophomore at the College of Emporia.

    Jennifer Lynne Davis and Robert Gerald Warton were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 1990, in the First United Presbyterian Church at Frankfort. The Reverend Neil Bartley officiated.

    The bride is the daughter of Gene and Trudi Davis, Silver Lake. The groom is the son of Gerry and Patti Warton, Las Vegas, Nev., and John and Nancy Weare, Burns, Ore.

    The bride, given in marriage by her father and mother, wore a gown of white satin with a V-neckline. The bodice was ornamented with appliques of schiffli lace, pearls, and sequins. The leg-o-mutton sleeves featured a ruffled, trimmed pouf. The chapel length train had appliques of schiffli lace and pearls. A large schiffli applique decorated the skirt front, and a satin bow decorated the back waistline. The bride's pearl and sequin crown held a fingertip length veil, which featured a pearl accented pouf. The bride carried her maternal great-grandmother’s linen handkerchief along with a bouquet of a dozen pink roses.

    Attending the bride were Debbie Davis, Lawrence; Michelle Macha, Knoxville, Tenn; Angie Parnell, Manhattan; and Deana Cowan, Holton. The attendants' dresses had fitted bodices of white lace with tea length rose pink taffeta skirts. A fabric bow accented the dropped waistline. Flower girl Sara Fox, Topeka, wore a pink satin dress adorned with fabric roses. Candlelighters Jennifer Hood, Manhattan, and Ronda Dewey, Rossville, wore ruffled pink satin tea length dresses.

    The groom wore a subtle stripe black tux with tails and a white vest and bow tie. The groom's attendants were Kip Warton, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico; Dan Peterson, Imogene, la; Jerry Landers, Anderson, Ind; and Mark Aide, Fort Riley. The groomsmen wore subtle stripe dark gray tuxes with matching pink ties and cummerbunds. Ring bearer was Matthew Warton, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico, who also wore a subtle stripe dark gray tux with matching light pink tie and cummerbund. Usher Brian Fox, Topeka, wore a light gray tux with a light pink tie and cummerbund.

    Mrs. Warton is a graduate of Rossville High School and is pursuing a degree in elementary education at Kansas State University. Mr. Warton is a graduate of Redmond, Ore, High School and is a corporal in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Riley.

    Following a honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii, the couple is residing in Manhattan.

    Jennifer is a 1987 graduate of Rossville High School. She is a junior at Kansas State University working toward her Bachelor's degree in elementary education. Robert is a 1984 graduate of Redmond High School, Redmond, Ore., and is in the United States Army, stationed at
    Fort Riley.

    An August 4, 1990 wedding is being planned.
