    Mrs. Alma Dean announces the marriage of her daughter, Edna Lorene, to Mr. Emerson Bailey, on Friday Dec. 7th, at Topeka. Mr. Bailey is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bailey of Hoyt. Mrs. Bailey has always lived in this community, receiving her education in the Rossville schools.

    Mr. and Mrs. Bailey are at home on their farm north of Grove.

    Mr. and Mrs. Emerson M. Bailey will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. December 9 at the Presbyterian Church in Rossville.

    Hosts will be their children, Gary and Linda Bailey, Wichita; John and Sharon Swan, Topeka; and Lanny and Phyllis Bailey, Silver Lake.

    Their grandchildren, Laura Bailey Johnson, Colorado Springs; Diane Bailey, Wichita; Melinda, Melissa and Mirl Swan, Topeka; and Scott, Kelly and Mathew, Silver Lake.

    Emerson Bailey and Edna Dean were married December 7,1934 at Topeka.

    Mrs. Edna Lorene Bailey, 79, Silver Lake, died Wednesday, March 27, 1991, at a Topeka hos¬pital.
    She was born Dec. 9, 1911, in Rossville, the daughter of Joseph H. and Alma Mitchell Dean.
    Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church and Loyal Chapter No. 176 Order of Eastern Star in Silver Lake.
    She was married to Emerson M. Bailey Dec. 7, 1934, in Topeka. He died Jan. 19, 1987.
    Survivors include a daughter, Sharon K. Swan, Topeka; two sons, Gary G. Bailey, Wichita, and Lanny D. Bailey, Silver Lake; a sister, Gladys Waldrip, Hoyt; two broth¬ers, Charles Dean, Silver Lake, and Delbert Dean, Topeka; eight grand¬children; and four great-grandchil¬dren.
    Services were at 10 a.m. Satur¬day at Parkcr-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery in the Grove community north of Silver Lake. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church, PO Box 177, Rossville, 66533.
