    Doris J. Henton
    LAWRENCE — Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church here for Doris D. Henton, 77, Lawrence, who died Nov. 9, 1995, at a nursing home here.

    She was born Nov. 13, 1917, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Irvine Dick. She lived in Kansas City, Mo., before she moved to Lawrence in December 1945. She was assistant cashier at Douglas County Bank in Lawrence where she worked 27 years before she retired in 1978.

    She was a member of First Christian Church, Stephen Ministry and Alvamar Country Club, all in Lawrence. She was a former member of Lawrence Memorial Hospital auxiliary.

    She was married to John W. Henton Sept. 30, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan. He died Aug. 6, 1987.

    Survivors include a stepson, Robert Henton, Blue Springs, Mo.; three sisters, Ruby Evans, Ozawkie, Hazel Smith, Green Valley, Ariz., and Marjorie Joyce, Morrison, Colo.; and a great-granddaughter.

    Mrs. Henton donated her body to the University of Kansas School of Medicine for research.

    Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Douglas County or to the organization of the donor's choice. Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence is in charge of arrangements.
