    Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will be honored with a reception Sunday, December 15, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, at the Delia Grade School gym, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m.

    Mr. and Mrs. Eakin were married December 17, 1924 in Topeka and have lived in the Delia community all their lives. They are the parents of three children, Ivaleu Miller, Edward Eakin and Eudora McQueen, all of Delia.

    Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

    Eakin's observe 59th anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, were guests of honor at a family dinner, Dec. 17, at the Golden Corral, Topeka, in observance of their 59th Wedding Anniversary.

    They were pleasantly surprised to find when they arrived at the restaurant, not only their children, but their grandchildren and great-grandchildren in attendance.

    Those attending included their children: Mr. and Mrs. Harold McQueen, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Eakin and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller.

    Eakin Couple Will Observe 65th Anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin, Delia, will observe their 65th wedding anniversary on Sunday, December 17. No celebration is planned, but the couple would appreciate cards and letters.

    Emery Eakin and Bertha Dibbern were married in Topeka on December 17, 1924.

    Their daughters are Eudora McQueen and Ivaleu Miller, both of Delia. There are 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

    Miller Couple Celebrated 45th Wedding Anniversary
    Don and Ivaleu Miller were pleasantly surprised when their seven children and their families came to their home near Delia on Sunday, June 9, to celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.

    Mrs. Don Miller Honored At Pink And Blue Shower

    Miss JoAnn Swenson entertained with a pink and blue shower Tuesday evening, August 26, at her home in honor of Mrs. Don Miller. The theme of pink and blue was carried out in decorations with an umbrella and tiny colored nursery toys. Pink and blue was also carried out in the refreshments.

    The evening was spent playing games after which Mrs. Miller opened the lovely gifts.

    Invited guests included Mrs. Miller, Shirley Pontius, Sue Mason, Sandi Molinari, Mrs. Josephine Liebhardt, Mrs. Julia Masters, Mrs. LeRoy Masters and Geraldine, Mrs. John Miller, Ruth and Ellen Kay, Mrs. Warren Pendleton, and Marilene, Mrs. Clyde Rogers and Jane, Linda Rezac, Mary Moylan, Betty Marney, Pauline Conley, Lynda Wood, Jean Nadeau, Jeanette Nadeau, Karen Pressgrove, Lucille Porter, Mrs. Walt Swenson, Diane and Joyce.

    Mr. and Mrs. Emery Eakin of Delia are the parents of a baby girl born January 1st.

    Delia—Ivaleu A. Miller a lifelong member of the Delia community passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Until recently, she remained in her own home with the loving assistance and care provided by her granddaughter Ashlee.
    Ivaleu was the first child of Emery and Bertha Eakin. She grew up in rural Delia along with her sister Eudora and brother, Edward. She became skilled at farm life on her parent’s farm and later as a partner in her husband, Donald’s farming business.
    Ivaleu attended grade school in rural Delia and graduated from Delia High School. She attended Emporia College where she obtained her teaching certificate. She taught school for two years at High Prairie Grade School and Stony Point Grade School. Later in life she worked part-time at the Delia Post Office.
    Family and farm were the way of life for Ivaleu, but she had also given of herself to her church and community; serving as an elder of the Delia Presbyterian Church, being a 4-H leader, serving on the election board, and as a member of the United Presbyterian Women.
    Ivaleu had a passion for cooking, a gift from her was sure to include one of her baked goods or candies. She enjoyed scrapbooking, embroidering, bird watching and especially enjoyed e-mailing her friends.
    On June 5, 1946 she was united in marriage to Donald W. “Don” Miller at Holton. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2005. Ivaleu was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edward Eakin.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her 7 children, Beverly (William) Tucker, Kansas City, KS, Gary Miller, Beattie, Victor Miller, Topeka, Nancy (Larry) Boten, Kansas City, MO, Sandra (Stephen) Eisenbarth, Silver Lake, Rodney (Lisa) Miller, Holton and Elizabeth (Brian Gower) Victor, Lawrence; her sister, Eudora McQueen, Delia; 17 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
    Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Delia Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Delia Cemetery. Ivaleu will lie in state and the family will receive friends Friday, November 8th from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delia Presbyterian Church and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
