    Obituary- McPherson, Gladys
    Gladys H. McPherson, 86, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at McCrite Plaza. She was born January 14, 1919 at Jamestown, TN the daughter of Jesse and Mildred Hurst Evans. She grew up and attended schools in the Valley Falls area. She married Clarence Miller McPherson November 19, 1940 at Howard, Kansas. He preceded her in death April 3, 1971. She spent most of her adult life in Topeka, except for the ten years that she resided in Emporia. Survivors include her daughter Sandra K. Braunsdorf, two sons, Michael E. McPherson and Bruce M. McPherson, four sisters, Doris Myers, Lois Thompson and Virginia Wolfe all of Topeka, and Betty Parks of Parkville, MO and one brother Bill Evans. She also has five grandchildren Brian Braxton, Stuart Morrison, Matt McPherson, Mark McPherson, Scott McPherson and five great grandchildren, Allison and Michael McPherson, Christopher, Bailey and Cole Morrison. Mrs. McPherson will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 W. 10th Avenue, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday. Private family graveside services will be held at the Rossville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice Service, 1033 Gage Blvd, Topeka, KS 66604 or to the American Diabetes Association, 10580 Barkley, Suite 400, Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
