    DEATH CLAIMS MRS. DEBACKER
    Mrs. Elizabeth DeBacker, 76, a resŽident of this township, Sandy Hook and Kaw township from 1880 until 1914, passed away March 14, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Cowan, at Roseville, the victim of a bronchial condition.
    She was the scion of an old S.M.; family, the daughter of John and Mary Fisher, who came from PennŽsylvania in 1880 to reside on a farm along the old Golden Belt road, west of St. Marys.
    She was born in the Quaker state at Williamsport, on April 11, 1873. At the Immaculate Conception church in 1894 she was wedded to Hermes DeBacker who preceded her in death by several decades. To this union six children were born and five survive. Jeannette died in 1920.
    Mrs. DeBacker moved with her family to Delia in 1914.
    The five children surviving are George DeBacker of Delia, Francis DeŽBacker of Topeka, state secretary of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus; Mrs. Lloyd Cowan of Rossville; Mrs. Edna Hartley and Mrs. Virginia Bailey of Topeka.
    A sister also survives, Mrs. George Ronnau of Topeka, together with four brothers: John F. Fischer of Wood River, Nebraska; Will Fischer, George Fischer and Harry Fischer of Los Angeles.
    There are seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
    A requiem Mass was sung by FaŽther Berens in the Catholic church here Thursday morning. Interment was in Mt Calvary cemetery.
    The pallbearers, including four grandsons, were Kenneth Cowan, HarŽold Heath, George DeBacker Jr. and Gerald DeBacker, Paul Hoizmeister and Robert Entsminger. —St. Marys Star.
