    Tammy Ann VanWamel, 26, St. Marys, died Wednesday, August 23, 2000, in a train/auto accident east of St. Marys.

    She was born April 25,1974, in Gaylord, MI, the daughter of Steve and Rita Theberge Freeman. She grew up in the St. Marys community and was graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1992.

    On August 13, 1994, she was married to Ben VanWamel in St. Marys. He survives.

    She is also survived by two sons, Johannus “Hans” and Benjamin VanWamel, and two daughters, Victoria and Serena VanWamel, all of the home; her parents, Steve and Rita Freeman, St. Marys; three sisters, Bernadette, Kathleen, and Cecilia Freeman, all of St. Marys; nine brothers, Jason, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Domonic, Nicholas, Steven, Benjamin, Christopher and Sebastian Freeman, all of St. Marys; and her grandparents, Marcel and Juliette Theberge.

    A Low Solemn Mass was celebrated at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at the Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. Burial was in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the Tammy Ann VanWamel Memorial Fund and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, 714 Maple Street, St. Marys 66536.

    ST. MARYS — Tammy Ann VanWamel, 26, St. Marys, was killed in a train-automobile accident east of St. Marys on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000.

    She was born April 25,1974, in Gaylord, Mich., the daughter of Steve and Rita Theberge Freeman. She was raised in St. Marys and graduated from St. Marys Academy in 1992.

    She married Ben VanWamel on Aug. 13, 1994, in St. Marys. He survives.

    Other survivors include two sons, Johannus VanWamel and Benjamin VanWamel, both at home; two daughters, Victoria VanWamel and Rita VanWamel, both at home; her parents, Steve and Rita Freeman, St. Marys; three sisters, Bernadette Freeman, Kathleen Freeman and Cecilia Freeman, all in St. Marys; nine brothers, Jason Freeman, Isaiah Freeman, Jeremiah Freeman, Domonic Freeman, Nicholas Freeman, Steven Freeman, Benjamin Freeman, Christopher Freeman and Sebastian Freeman, all of St. Marys; and grandparents, Marcel and Juliette Theberge.
