    Joyce V. Scott ST. MARYS - Joyce V. Scott, passed away Saturday morning April 9, 2011, at the Rossville Health Care Center, where she had been a resident and in the care of Midland Hospice. She was born and raised in Lenora, Kansas, and was the eldest of three children born to Carl and Mabie Wells Gibson. Joyce attended both grade and high school in Lenora. She had lived in the St. Marys community many years and had worked at several different businesses including the Rezac Sales Barn and Katies Korner. On December 25, 1947, she was united in marriage to Carl Scott. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1996. Survivors include her children, Connie Scott, Topeka, Steve (Linda) Scott, Rossville, Karen (Tom) Seele, Ft. Myers, FL, Brian (Tammy) Scott, Topeka, and Kevin (Katherine) Scott, Alpharetta, GA; her brother, George Gibson, Lenora; a sister, Jeanine Halfich, Citrus Heights, CA; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Mrs. Scott will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday, April 11, 2011, at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to

    JOYCE V. SCOTT

Myers, Fla., Brian (Tammy) Scott, Topeka and Kevin (Katherine) Scott, Alpharetta, Ga.; her brother, George Gibson, Lenora; a sister, Jeanine Halfich, Citrus Heights, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

    Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 12, at Piper Funeral Home, St. Marys.

    Cremation followed the funeral service.
