    Mr. and Mrs. Ignac Horak celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, November 9th, at their home in Delia. Mr. and Mrs. Horak observed the occasion quietly with close relation and friends from the surrounding area.

    Delia couple observes 50th anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Ignac Horak of Delia quietly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday at their home. Only close relation and friends joined them for the occasion.

    Ignac Horak was married to Veronica Hejtmanek on November 8, 1908, in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia. Mr. Horak came to the United States in May, 1912, and Mrs. Horak and their two children followed six months later in November.

    They are parents of eight children including one set of twins, Mrs. Rose Davis, Bakerfield, California; Rudy Horak, Taft, California; Albert Horak, Grover City, California; Irene Collett, Camas, Washington; Eddie Horak, Trip City, Ohio; Bennie Horak and Emily Dodge of Delia; and Esther Wehner of Rossville. There are 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

    Mr. Horak worked on the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years and is now retired. He is at present janitor for the Delia Grade School.

    Those who helped Mr. and Mrs. Horak observe the anniversary were: Rev. and Mrs. Robert Bough- ton, Mrs. Theresa Hromada of Rossville, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Martinek Sr. of Silver Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rosser and Marilyn. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Keller, Mrs. George Olejnik Sr. of Delia, their oldest son Rudy Horak of Taft, California, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dodge and family, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Wehner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Horak and family. Mrs. Theresa Hromada and Mrs. George Olejnik are sisters of Mrs. Ignac Horak.

    Rose Horak Davis

    Services were Monday, November 15, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Bakersfield, Calif., for Rose V. Davis, 84, who died Wednesday, November 10, 1993.

    Rose was born in Czechoslovakia on June 6, 1909. She lived in Bakersfield, Calif. For more than 59 years, and worked at New City Cleaners for 40 years. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Ignac and Veronica Horak, and her husband, George R. Davis.

    Survivors include her son, Barry Davis, Bakersfield, Calif., two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Albert Horak, Oakhurst, Calif., Rudy Horak, Bakersfield, Calif., Benny Horak, Delia, and Ed Horak, New Paris, Ohio; three sisters, Emily Dodge, Delia, Irene Collett, Camus, Wash., and Esther Wehner, Rossville; several nieces and nephews.
