Johnson-Wood Marriage Dec. 22 In Wichita
Bonny Lou Johnson, Wichita, and Ronald Eugene Wood, Rossville, were married at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 22, in the West Side Christian Church, Wichita. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dan A. Johnson, Wichita, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Trimble, Rossville.

The Rev. Delmar L. Follis, the bride’s brother-in-law, read the double ring ceremony, and music was provided by Mrs. Ralph Hinton, organist, and Mrs. Delmer Parr, soloist.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length gown of Shiffli embroidered tulle over taffeta. The fitted bodice which joined the skirt in a V had a sabrina neckline and short sleeves with matching mitts. The skirt was formed by tiers of very full ruffles edged in embroidered scallops. The finger-tip veil of sheer silk illusion was held by a scalloped pearl halo. She carried a bouquet of cymbidium orchids encircled by carnations and placed on a white Bible.

Mrs. Delmar Follis, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Brides-maids were Pat Prochaska and Jean Moore. Susan Payne and Anita Fox were taper lighters.

The attendants wore gowns of crystaline taffeta in harmonizing shades of blue fashioned with three-quarter length sleeves and draped necklines in front and deep V’s in back. Cummerbunds with floating back panels topped the bouffant skirts. Their hats were double dips of matching material. They carried bouquets of light pink carnations.

Lloyd Mesmer was best man. Sammy Johnson and Philip Johnson, brother of the bride, were groomsmen and ushers.

A reception was held in the church undercroft with Barbara Springsteen, Madolyn Townsend and Marilyn Williams assisting. Mrs. Sammy Johnson presided at the guest book.

The couple is at home at 721 Fremont, in Manhattan.

The bride is a 1956 graduate of North Wichita High School and Mr. Wood is a 1955 graduate of Silver Lake High School. Both are students at the Manhattan Bible College, Manhattan, Kansas.
