    Rachel Pendleton
    Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Pendleton, mother of Mrs. J.B. Davis and Mrs. Dovie Cowperthwaite, of Silver Lake, were held last Friday at 2 p.m. in the Silver Lake Baptist Church, conducted by its pastor, the Rev. Beam. Music was furnished by Mrs. Edith Goodnow, Mrs. May Shafer, Clarence Henry and Burnist Cone. The pallbearers were Messrs. J.B. Herrington, Alden Goodnow, Guilford Hook and Ammon Dietrich. Burial was in the Silver Lake Cemetery.



    Mrs. Rachel Pendleton
    Mrs. Rachel Pendleton, 87, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.B. Davis, Route 2, Silver Lake. She was born at Nashville, Tenn., August 20, 1857, and moved in 1909 to Silver Lake where she had lived alone. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her husband, I.M. Pendleton, died seven years ago.

    Mrs. Pendleton is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J.B. Davis, Mrs. W.A. Black, Topeka; Mrs. M.M. Pennington, Leavenworth; and Mrs. Dovie Cowperthwaite, Silver Lake; one son, Dudley Pendleton, Hutchinson, and by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Silver Lake Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Silver Lake Cemetery. Friends may see the body at the Parker Mortuary until noon Friday.
