    Mina Hook
    Mrs. Mina A. Hook, after a long illness, passed away at her home in Rossville, Thursday evening, Nov. 18, at the age of 74 years and 5 months.

    She was born at Tipton, Mo., in 1863, and moved with her parents, the late Dr. and Mrs. A.G. McGill, to Silver Lake, Kansas, in 1879, making her home in Shawnee county since.

    Surviving her are her husband, W.V. Hook; two sons, Joe Neiswender, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Thurlow Neiswender of Cicero, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. C.L. Dolman of Topeka, and three grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Rossville Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, Dr. H.L. Nelson, who was assisted by the Rev. James W. Reed and Rev. Willis Schnelle.

    Music was furnished by Mrs. Fannie Reser, Mrs. Margaret Witter, Miss Edith Higginbotham, and Mrs. Peter Navarre, with Mrs. Mabel Eversole piano accompanist.

    The pallbearers were Messrs. Marvin Davis, Gus Kassebaum, C.W. Vorhies, David Davis, Albert Reser, and J.F. Zook. Burial was in the Silver Lake cemetery.

    Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow Neiswender and daughter of Cicero, Ill., drove to Rossville Sunday morning called by the critical condition of his mother, Mrs. W.V. Hook. He returned home Monday and Mrs. Neiswender remained to assist in the care of Mrs. Hook. --18 Nov. 1937

    Mr. and Mrs. Thurlow Neiswender and daughter returned, Monday, to their home at Cicero, Ill. following a stay of a week with his mother, Mrs. W.V. Hook. They were called home by the serious illness of Mrs. Hook. --4 Nov. 1937

    The following out-of-town folks were in Rossville Sunday to attend the funeral of Mrs. W.V. Hook: Mrs. Mattie Attebury, Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Barteldes, Lawrence; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. George Fiederling, Mr. and Mrs. Will VanOrsdol, John Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Paramore, Mrs. Ellen Merillat, Miss Margaret Bond, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kassebaum, all of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. B.M. Hook, Mrs. Alice Neiswender, Raymond Neiswender and A.J. Thomas, all of Silver Lake.
