    Shooting Victim's Funeral Scheduled

Services for Mrs. Sylvia Christina Cott, 50, Delia, will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Padden Funeral Home, Holton, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Cott was found dead of a bullet wound in the chest Thursday night in the kitchen of her home near Delia.

Her husband, Ora, 58, was found in a bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound and Jackson County authorities are holding him for questioning in the shooting.

The husband is in Stormont-Vail Hospital here with wounds in the abdomen and chest. Nurses said his condition has improved slightly, but still is serious.

Mrs. Cott was born April 26, 1912, in St. Louis, Mo., and had lived in Kansas 33 years. She had lived in the Delia community about two years.

Besides her widower, survivors include three sons, Donald, in Topeka; Quillan, stationed with the U.S. Army in Korea, and Gerald, Leavenworth; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Graybeal, Delia, and a brother, Roy Kelsey, St. Louis.

Padden Funeral Home, Holton, is in charge of arrangements.
