    MRS MARY LOU DeBACKER
    Mrs. Mary Lou DeBacker, 49, Delia, died Tuesday, July 26, 1977, in a Topeka hospital where she was readmitted Monday. She had cancer and had been released from the hospital Saturday. She had been admitted to the same hospital June 19.
    She was born May 3, 1928, at Emmett and spent most of her life in the Emmett and Delia communities.
    Mrs. DeBacker was precinct committee- woman for the Democratic party in Jackson County’s Washington Township several years. She was a past president of the Sacred Heart Altar Society in Delia.
    She was married to George DeBacker June 13, 1946, at Delia. He survives.
    Other survivors include a son, Severin DeBacker, Delia; a daughter, Laureen DeBacker, at home; her mother, Mrs. Irene Ketter, Delia; two brothers, Lawrence Ketter and Melvin Ketter, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Florence Martin, Topeka; and a granddaughter.
    Rosary was recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday (today) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Delia. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys under the direction of Verschelden Funeral Home.
    The family suggests memorial contribuŽtions to the American Cancer Society.

    Mrs. DeBacker will lie in state at Verschelden Funeral Home at St. Marys where rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial contribuŽtions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
