    Bertha C. Zeller
    Wamego- Bertha C. Zeller, 86 of Wamego, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Rossville Health & Rehabilitation Center.

    She was born May 16, 1927 at Paxico the daughter of William Frank & Helena Stech Kolde. Bertha grew up in the St. Marys community where she attended schools.

    Mrs. Zeller was a homemaker and had cleaned homes for families in Wamego. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wamego.

    She was united in marriage to Virgil C. "Turtle" Zeller in 1945 at Othello, WA. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2003. Bertha was also preceded in death by sons, Michael Zeller in Vietnam on February 25,1968, Joseph Zeller on May 3,1987 and Thomas "Pat" Zeller on March 16, 2004.

    Survivors include two sons, Jim (Meg) Zeller, Topeka and John Zeller, Wamego; three sisters, Helen Tarbutton, Las Vegas, NV, Nadine Perry, St. Marys and Betty Aills, Salina; six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

    Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Church in St. Marys. A rosary was recited at 9:30 before the Mass. Interment was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Memorial contributions may be made to Marys Choices, P.O. Box 8689, Topeka, 66608. Piper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
