    FRANKLIN
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Franklin of Topeka, were the honor guests at an informal "open house” given at their home Tuesday. The affair, which was a complete surprise to them was arranged by their son and daughters: Mr. Ben Franklin, of New York City Mrs. W. T. McIntyre, (Myrnah) of St. Louis; Mrs. Hubert Cox (Monita) Cedarvale, and Miss Miriam Franklin, of drove City, Pa., to celebrate their parents’ fiftieth wedding anniversary. Their son was present for the party, and many friends and neighbors called during the afternoon and evening. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin are eighty-four years old and were married at Mrs. Franklin’s father’s farm north of Perry. They have spent their lives in Kansas and have lived the past twenty years in Topeka. Before moving to Topeka the Franklin family were residents of this community the major portion of their married life, living on their farm north of Rossville which they still own. Their children were reared on the home place.
