    Lucille Bagby
    Lucille Bagby. 88, Marquette, MI, died at Marquette General Hospital Tuesday, May 21, 2002, after a brief illness.
    She was born October 1, 1913, in Rossville, the daughter of Ru¬fus A. and Nellie Martin Lillard. She had lived in the Marquette area for 12 years.
    After graduating from high school in Rossville, Lucille went to work in Topeka, where she met her husband of 42 years, Eugene Bagby. During World War II she worked briefly in California in the I aircraft industry until her husband I was sent overseas, then settled in Iowa to care for her daughter and await her husband’s return. After the war, she moved with her fam¬ily to California where she lived until her husband’s death in 1985.
    She held many varied jobs — nanny, housekeeper, ceramics packer, laundry presser and home¬maker. She was a strong advocate of human rights.
    In 1989, she moved to Marque¬tte to be near her daughter and family. There she served as an RSVP volunteer, and crocheted lap robes for those in wheelchairs.
    Lucille is survived by her daughter, Sally May, Harvey, ML her sister, Phyllis Graves, Ross¬ville; two grandsons; four great¬grandchildren: a nicce. Martha Rezac, Silver Lake; a nephew,
    Robert Graves, Topeka; and nu-merous grandnieces and grand- nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: a sister, Mary Wood; and two brothers, Glendon “Bud" Lillard and Henry “Hank" Lillard.
    A graveside service was held Saturday in the Park Cemetery in Marquette, MI, under direction of the Canale Tonella Funeral Home of Marquette.
