  Obituary- Greenberg, Phyllis Phyllis Jean Greenberg Phyllis Jean Greenberg, 79, Topeka, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007, at Midland Hospice Care. Phyllis had COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) which caused her to be home-bound in recent years. She was born on June 26, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of William Hall and Elsie (Rezac) Lynde. Phyllis was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church. She was known for her artistic talents in ceramics and oil paintings; and she enjoyed working her yard and flower beds. She showed and developed prize-winning championship German Shepherd dogs in the 1950’s; an interest she thoroughly enjoyed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin Greenberg, in 1953. She is survived by a son, Frank William Meade, and his wife, Esta. Services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Phyllis will not lie in state. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church, 2636 SE Minnesota Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66605; or Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
