    Remer-Macha Wedding
A beautiful home wedding was held Saturday afternoon, June 14, 1952, in Burlington, Ks., that united in marriage, Miss Orphan Glee Remer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Remer, of Burlington, and Richard Fred Macha, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard F. Macha of Council Grove.

The Rev. Drexel Farrell, pastor of the Christian church at Burlington, read the double ring ceremony at 3 o'clock before an improvised altar banked with baskets of white gladioli and fern and lighted by tall tapers in candelabra.

Richard Robbins was the soloist and Miss Joyce Griffith was the pianist.

The beautiful bride was given in marriage by her father. For her wedding she chose a ballerina length gown of white net and lace over slipper satin. Her finger tip veil of bridal illusion was held in place by a tiara of orange blossoms, and her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. She carried a white Bible, topped with a deep purple orchid and accented with white satin streamers.

Mrs. Jack McMillan, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a ballerina length gown of blue chiffon, and carried a colonial bouquet of spring flowers.

Bennie Macha brother of the groom was best man and ushers were LeRoy Krause of Council Grove and Darrell Wood of Burlington. Ricky Scott, nephew of the bride, Overland Park, was the ring bearer.

The reception was held immediately following the ceremony, at the home of the bride's parents. The bridal table was beautifully appointed and centered with a large three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom. Mrs. Lauren Scott cut the cake, Cora Lee Irwin, Barbara Shepp and Patty Paxon poured punch, and Mrs. Larry Edwards, Topeka was in charge of the guest book.

Mrs. Remer, mother of the bride, wore a gown of grey lace, with matching accessories. Mrs. Macha, mother of the groom, wore a pale green sheer with matching accessories. Both mothers had corsages of pink split carnations.

Mr. and Mrs. Macha, left after the reception on a honeymoon trip to Rockaway Beach, Missouri.

For traveling she chose a mauve colored suit with a navy blue and white accessories and a corsage of yellow carnations. They will be at home to their friends at 1023 1/2 Commercial, Emporia, after June 18.

Mrs. Macha is a sophomore at Kansas State Teachers college, Emporia, and is a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha, social sorority. Mr. Macha, is also a sophomore at Kansas State Teachers college, Emporia, and is a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon; social fraternity.
