    MRS. WORTHINGTON
    90 YEARS OLD TODAY
Mrs. Mamie Worthington of this city celebrated her 90th birthday today, July 29.
Mrs. Worthington was born July 29 1864 in Sommerset, Pa. Her mother passed away when she was seven and at the age of 16, she came to Kansas to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. John Fritz of Rossville; they had lived at Sommerset before coming here.
On February 21, 1884, Mamie Catherine Mostoller married Walter B. Worthington in Rossville and they were parents of four children: A son, who died in infancy, and three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Gilbert of Oklahoma City, Mrs. Maude Reinhardt of Topeka and Mrs. Faye Wilder of Meriden.
The family lived on the Higginbotham farm one-half mile north of Rossville for 16 years, then on the Henry Bond farm 1 1/2 miles west of town for 15 years. With the exception of a year they lived at Willard and a year at Silver Lake, they farmed in this community. Mr. Worthington passed away in March, 1927, and his widow has lived in Rossville on Navarre street since. She is one of the oldest living residents of this community.
Mrs. Worthington is active and enjoying good health. She has a garden and keeps abreast of the times with the radio and newspapers and keeps up regular correspondence with her family. She has two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
