  Obituary- McMickell, Emmaretta EMMARETTA McMICKELL Mrs. Emmaretta McMickell, 61. of Silver Lake, died Friday morning in a Topeka hospital. She was born in Silver Lake August 29, 1893, and moved to Ness City in 1315, returning in 1935 to Silver Lake, where she had lived ever since. She was a member of the Silver Lake Baptist church, Ridgely Rebecca Lodge No. 45 of Silver Lake, the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarchs Militant, both of Topeka. She is a past president of the American Legion auxiliary of Silver Lake and a past president of the Silver Lake Community club. She is survived by her husband, Harvey McMickell of Silver Lake; four daughters, Mrs. Berniece Murdock, Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Winifred Evans of McPherson; Mrs. Doris Uhl of Wakarusa and Mrs. Lorene Crawshaw, Silver Lake; two sons, Joel of Long Beach, Calif., and Alva L. of Silver Lake; four sisters, Mrs. Kate Hundertfund, Topeka; Mrs. Edith Locke, Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. Zora Thompson, Topeka, and Mrs. Jessie Davis, Brownell; a brother, Calvin Rankin, Dwight; a nephew, 21 grandchildren and three great-grand-children. Funeral services were held at the Silver Lake Baptist Church Monday, September 6. Burial was in Silver Lake Cemetery.
