    Gertrude Browne

    ST. MARYS--Services will be at 8 p.m. Sunday at Verschelden Funeral Home here for Mrs. Gertrude Browne, St. Marys, who died Friday morning, March 5, 1976, in a Topeka hospital.

    She was born in St. Marys where she had lived all her life. She was graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy, St. Marys, and Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. She had taught school in St. Marys, St. George, Rossville and Troy.

    She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Marys, the National Retired Teachers Association, the Kansas State Teachers Association, and the National Education Association.

    She was married to John M. Browne, in 1931 in St. Marys. He survives. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Browne, in 1944.

    She is survived by a son, Dr. Robert I. Browne, Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Claire Maloney, Kansas City; and a brother, George Rezac, St. Marys.

    Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys.

    Mrs. Browne will lie in state after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
