    Miss Nora Rogers, whose marriage will take place early in January, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower given by Misses Thelma Cless and Grace Sanders, Wednesday afternoon at the latter’s home. Appropriate contests provided a delightful social period. Dainty refreshments were served. Miss Rogers received many lovely gifts. The guests were Miss Rogers, Misses Ellen Miller, Ruby McConnell, of Topeka; Mrs. Arthur Rogers, Winifred Rogers, Miss Esther Sebring, Miss Alice Lemon, Miss Ruby Wilt, Miss Leona Hayes, Miss Nellie Gibson, Miss Lila Ellis, Mrs. John Kinnett, Mrs. Wm. Sanders, Miss Thelma Cless and Miss Sanders.

    Wearing a frock of azure blue satin, and carrying a bouquet of roses, Miss Nora Rogers, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rogers of Willard was a lovely and winsome bride Wednesday evening when she was wedded to Mr. Charles Todd, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Todd, of Dover.

    The wedding took place at the Dover Federated church at 8 o'clock, in the presence of about 400 relatives and friends of the two families.

    C.K. Thomas, of Manhattan, pastor of the Rossville Christian church, performed the ceremony, using the ring service.

    Miss Thelma Cless acted as bridesmaid and was lovely in a frock of hyacinth blue crepe. She wore a corsage bouquet of roses. Mr. William Corkhill, cousin of the groom was the best man.

    Preceding the ceremony, Miss Grace Sanders sang "Because," with Mrs. C.K. Thomas as piano accompanist.

    Mrs. Thomas also played Lohengrin's Bridal Chorus as the processional and Mendelssohn's wedding march as the bridal party marched down the aisle to the church entrance following the ceremony.

    Preceding the wedding a 6 o'clock dinner was served at the home of the bride's parents, to the immediate relatives and those of the wedding party. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. C.N. Todd, Miss Mary Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, Mr. Warner Rogers, Miss Marjorie Rogers, Winifred Rogers, Mrs. Jennie Rogers, Mr. Virgil Seigler, Miss Thelma Cless, Miss Grace Sanders, Mr. Wm. Corkhill, Mr. and Mrs. C.K. Thomas of Manhattan.

    Miss Ruby Miller Miss Robert Stephens of Willard; Mr. Dwight Corkhill and Mr. Noland Winters of Dover, were ushers.

    Mrs. Todd is a graduate of Rossville high school with the class of 1930 and was active in all school and church functions, and very popular among her friends.

    Mr. Todd after receiving his high school education at Dover graduated from K.S.C. in 1930. He, too, is an active worker in church circles, at present is serving his third year as Sunday School superintendent of the Dover church.

    Mr. and Mrs. Todd left this morning to spend a short honeymoon as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Corkhill at Concordia.

    Mr. and Mrs. Todd will be at home on the Todd farm 4 miles southeast of Dover where he will farm in partnership with his father.

    DOVER — Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Federated Church here for Nora M. Todd, 86, Dover, who died Saturday, May 10, 1997, at a hospital in Topeka.

    She was born May 7, 1911, in Willard, the daughter of Arthur P. and Ethel Miller Rogers, and was graduated from Rossville High School.

    She was a member of the Federated Church in Dover where she taught Sunday school 35 years and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was a 4-H Club leader 45 years.

    She was married to Charles C. Todd Jan. 4, 1933, in Dover. He died Dec. 17, 1992. A daughter, Elnora Todd, died in infancy. Another daughter, Zelma Rathje, died in August 1988.

    Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ann Briant, Auburn; five sons, Chester Todd, David Todd and Floyd Todd, all in Maple Hill, Arthur Todd, Auburn, and Philip Todd, Manhattan; two sisters, Marjorie Woofter, Maple Hill, and Winifred Smith, Topeka; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

    Mrs. Todd donated her body to the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City for research.

    Inurnment will be in Dover Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Federated Church in Dover, 66420. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home in Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
