Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Sage and Arietta Smith and their families. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Mr. and Mrs. Sage were married February 11, 1942, in Topeka and have lived in the Dover, Rossville and Willard communities.
  		Anniversary- Sage, Austin and Luella 2 Austin and Luella Sage Sages Will Celebrate Golden Anniversary Austin and Luella Sage will be honored with a reception for their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rossville Community Center. Hosts will be their children and families: Gene and Arietta Nichols, Melvin and Loretta Sage, and Luella's mother, Mrs. Hazel Olson. The Sages have five grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter, three great-grandsons, and two stepgreat-grandsons. Austin is retired from Washburn University after 27 years, where he was chief of maintenance and groundskeeper. Luella is retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, where she was the Canteen Services cook. Austin and Luella were married February 11,1942, in Topeka. They have lived all of their married life in the Rossville, Dover and Willard communities.

Austin “Auty” Sage and Luella Olson were married Feb. 11, 1942, in Topeka. Mr. Sage retired as head groundskeeper for Washburn University and Mrs. Sage is a retired canteen cook for the Veterans Administration hospital. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  Documents		Marriage- Sage, Arletta-Smith, Kenneth Arletta Sage and Kenneth Smith wed in Christian church The marriage of Arletta Esther Sage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Austin M. Sage of Rossville, to Kenneth Ray Smith, son of MR. and Mrs. William Smith of Rossville, took place October 28 in the Rossville Christian Church. Minister Sam Nickols read the double ring service at 7:30 p.m. Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Lewis Walker of Harveyville, Kansas. Soloists were Mr. Frank Taker and daughter, Mrs. Earl Hepworth of Dover, Kansas. Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Hepworth are cousins of the bride and Mr. Taber is an uncle. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a blue wool sheath with matching jacket. White satin and velvet bows and veiling formed her hat, and she carried a bouquet of red roses on a white Bible. Maid of honor, Miss Zora Wade of Topeka, wore a beige suit with brown accessories. Her corsage was bronze mums. Mr. Smith had as his best man Leonard Mesmer. Ushers were Buddy Taylor of Topeka, brother-in-law of the groom, and Melvin Sage, brother of the bride. Mrs. Buddy Taylor had charge of the guest book. Mrs. Taylor is sister of the groom. A reception at the Rossville Community Center followed the ceremony. In charge of the reception was Mrs. Anna Lemon of Rossville. Assisting her were Mrs. Leonard Mesmer, Mrs. David Stadler, Mrs. Lonnie Spiker, Mrs. Cecil Lloyd and Miss Sandra Lloyd. Those in charge of gifts were Ada Sage, Shirley Sage, Mrs. LaVerne Abney, Geneva Smith and Janet Harth. The bride is a student at Stewart's Beauty Academy in Topeka. Mr. Smith is serving a four year enlistment in the United States Navy with Fighter Squadron Thirteen stationed at Naval A.S. Cecil Field, Jacksonville, Florida.   Birth- Sage, Arletta Mr. and Mrs. Austin Sage announced the birth of a daughter Dec. 22, to whom they have given the name of Arletta Esther. Mrs. Sage was formerly Luella Olson. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Sage entertained Sunday at dinner for Clinton Sherrets, wife and two children, of Topeka, who is leaving Thursday for Farragut, Idaho, to begin his boot training. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Sherrets, Sherral and Harold; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Olson and the host and hostess. Elmer Olson of Topeka, came out Friday night to spend the week-end with his daughter, Mrs. Austin Sage and family and Mrs. Olson, who has been caring for their daughter and the new little granddaughter.
