    WALTER CLESS’ ENJOY GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

    Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Cless entertained at an informal gathering Sunday, Feb. 28, at the home of his parents, Mr. an Mrs. Walter Cless, who were honor guests on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

    Mr. and Mrs. Cless were married Feb. 24, 1904, at the home of the bride’s parents north of Rossville with the Rev. Steward officiating. Mrs. Cless is the former Lida Shenk. They have one son, Floyd of Topeka.

    They were pleasantly surprised by a group of relatives and friends who gathered at their home Sunday and helped them observe their Golden Wedding anniversary.

    The table was covered with a lace cloth and decorated with a three-tier cake and candelabra. Mrs. Duane Parr cut the cake and Mrs. Leland Wagner was in charge of the guest book.

    Lida Cless

    Mrs. Lida Cless, 82, 120 Buchanan, died Wednesday night, April 11, 1962, in a Topeka hospital.

    She was born Feb. 17, 1880, in Pennsylvania and lived nearly all her life at Rossville. She was a resident of Topeka about two years.

    Mrs. Cless was a member of the Christian Church at Rossville.

    Her husband, Walter J. Cless, died in July 1958.

    She is survived by a son, Floyd M. Cless, 1631 W. 28th; a granddaughter, Mrs. Beverly Wagner of St. Paul, Minn.; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Earl Riddle, 120 Buchanan, and Mrs. Fannie Reser, 322 Quincy.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Parker Mortuary with burial in the Rossville Cemetery.




    Lida Cless dies in
    Topeka hospital

    Services for Mrs. Lida Cless, 82, of Topeka, who died Wednesday, April 11, 1962, at a Topeka hospital, were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary with burial in Rossville Cemetery.

    She was born February 17, 1880, in Pennsylvania and lived nearly all her life at Rossville. She had been a resident in Topeka about two years. Her husband, Walter J. Cless, died in July, 1958.

    She was a member of the Christian Church at Rossville.

    Survivors include a son, Floyd M. Cless; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Riddle, and Mrs. Fannie Reser, all of Topeka; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

    Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cowan, Mrs. Lucretia Dowling and Mr. Harold Cowan attended the Cless funeral in Topeka, Saturday.
