    Obituary.
    Mary Slipher Stroup was born in Ohio, near Cincinnati, September 17, 1824 and died at her home in Rossville, June 28, 1902, aged 77 years, 9 months and 11 days. She was married to Nathan Stroup, December 21, 1843. In early womanhood she became a christian and for 60 years was a faithful follower of Christ and a loyal member of the Methodist Church.

    She was the mother of twelve children, eight of whom remain to mourn her loss. She was a faithful, loving wife and mother. By her neighbors she was respected and loved for her cheerful, generous and warmhearted friendship.
