    Bonnie Jean Heckel
    Bonnie Jean Heckel passed on to be with our Lord on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at Plaza West Center. She was born to James G. Trimble and Martha Faye Libby on Feb. 15, 1934. She was married to James L. Heckel on April 15, 1955. He passed away on Feb. 23, 2006. She graduated from Topeka High in 1951. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 28 years until she had to take disability as she had a stroke. She was a member of Berryton United Methodist Church, and a life member of Telephone Pioneers. Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents were brothers, Jim Trimble and Bill Trimble and sisters, Lavey Torsney and Gloria Gray. She is survived by her brother, Ken Trimble and his wife Carol of Topeka, Brother-in-law, Rex Gary of Berryton, KS., Sister-in-law, Norma Quiett and Frances Paschall of Topeka, Flossie Dunlap of St. Joe, Mo., and Alberta Burnett of Indiana. She is also survived by lots and lots of nieces and nephews who she referred to as Her Children. Bonnie's smile and determination will be missed by all who loved her. Funeral services will be at Berryton United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m. Bonnie will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel on 209th and Minnesota; family visitation will be from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Berryton United Methodist Church Building Fund, 7010 SE Berryton Rd., Berryton, KS 66409.
