    VAN VLECK
The Golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Van Vleck was a delightful occasion, Wednesday afternoon and evening when about sixty friends and relatives called at their home in Rossville.

The house decorations were bouquets of cut flowers and bitter sweets A beautiful bouquet of rich golden marigolds formed an attractive center piece for the dining table. Twin crystal candle sticks holding lighted candles adorned each end of the table.

The guests were served dainty refreshments, with Mrs. Clara Counts of St. Louis, pouring.

Mr. and Mrs. Van Vleck were married north of Rossville, Oct. 2, 1890, at the home of their brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Vleck. Their wedding trip consisted of a visit to a number of places in Kansas, after which they settled on a farm three miles north west of Rossville. They moved to town in 1905.

In 1913, Mr. Van Vleck was appointed Rossville Postmaster and continued in the postal service here until 1924.

Their daughters, Mrs. Leo Pillar, of Great Bend, Mrs. Dale Vermilion, of Goodland and Mrs. Milton Counts of St. Louis were all present for the happy occasion.
