Obituary- Cottle, Robert F.

R.F. Cottle
R. F. Cottle passed away Sunday noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Tom Barker, following a sever¬al month’s gradual decline in health and strength.
Mr. Cottle was one of the well-re¬spected ex-citizens of Kentucky, who came to Kansas in 1907, residing here two years. He returned to his old home and remained there a cou¬ple of years and then returned here to make his permanent home.
He was born at West Liberty, Ky., October 12, 1847, and was 81 years 9 months and 2 days old at the date of his decease.
When he was 21 years old he was united in marriage to Alice Gordon and twelve children were born to this union. Mrs. Cottle passed away a few years ago and three of the child¬ren had also preceded him to the great beyond. The survivors are: John M. Cottle, West Liberty, Ky.; Mrs. Belle Perry, Pomp, Ky.; Joe Cottle, Wamego, Kan.; Goebel Cot¬tle, Topeka; Mrs. Fannie Oldfield, Mrs. Emma McConnell, Mrs. Kiah Prater, Mrs. Auty Trimble, Mrs. Tom Barker, all of Rossville; one sister, Mrs. Catherine Davis, of Rossville; 47 grandchildren, 14 great grand¬children and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure.
Mr. Cottle early in life united with the Baptist church and to this faith he firmly held until the end.
Funeral services were held Tues¬day afternoon, July 16, in the Ross¬ville Christian church conducted by the Pastor, Rev G. G. Horne, of To¬peka. The body was interred in Rossville cemetery.
