Obituary- Countryman, Ralph 2

Ralph Countryman
Ralph D. Countryman, 78, Topeka, died Thurs¬day, Aug. 30, 2001, at a Topeka retirement com¬munity.
Mr. Countryman served 40 years in the armed forces with troth the Air Force and the Army National Guard before he retired.
He was born May 18, 1923, in Rossville, the son of Dewey and Florence Higgins Countryman. He attended Rossville High School.
He married Lorraine Kearney on April 17, 1953, in Topeka. She died in 1996. Mr. Countryman also was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Dean, earlier this year.
Survivors in elude a daughter, Darlene Bland, Topeka; three sisters, Vena Mae Thompson, Delia, Ruby Davis, Topeka, and Betty Barrett, Louisville, Ky.; one grandchild; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. today at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mid¬land Hospice House, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, 66604; or to Presbyterian Manor 4712 S.W. 6th St., Topeka, 66604.
Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
