Obituary- Barnett, Helen

Helen F. Barnett
Helen F. Rogers Barnett, 99, Dover, died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at the St. Marys Hospital.
She was born November 9, 1901, near Dover in Shawnee County, the daughter of Arizona Lincoln and Mary Jane “Jennie” Lyttle Rogers. She lived in the Dover community all of her life until she moved to the St. Marys Manor September 1, 2000.
Helen was a member of the Dover Federated Church, and a life member of the Dover Pansy Club. She was a 50-year member of Clarice Chapter No. 190 Order of the Eastern Star in Wakarusa.
In 1922, she married Roy Taber. He died in 1961. She married Tom Herron in December 1962. He died in 1974. She married George Barnett in 1976. He died in 1985.
Surviving her are five stepdaughters, Ann Kelsey, Silver Lake, Jane Leonard, Woodstock, NH, Aileen Helmick, Warrensburg, MO, Louise Chase, Asheville, NC, and Angela Barnett, Salina; two stepsons, George Louis Barnett, Sulphur Springs, TX, and Dennis Barnett, Florence, AL; two nieces, Lillian Rippetoe, Wichita, and Phyllis Keller, Rossville, and one nephew, Dean Page, Rossville.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 Tuesday (this evening) at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home. Her service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dover Federated Church in Dover; burial will be in the Dover Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dover Federated Church building fund and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys 66536.
