Obituary- Barney, Alice 2

Mrs. Alice B. Barney
SILVER LAKE - Mrs. Alice Belle Barney, 78, Silver Lake, was declared dead on arrival Thursday at a Topeka hospital.
She was born April 3, 1904, at Delia, the daughter of Ed and Mary Louise Franz Redmon.
Mrs. Barney taught in Maple Hill schools. She also was graduated from the Flo Menninger Bible Course and taught Bible at Hoyt.
She was a member of the United Me¬thodist Church, Women’s Society for Christian Service and Royal Chapter No. 176 of the Order of Eastern Star, all at Silver Lake. She also was a past matron of Amaryllis Chapter No. 321, OES, and Ladies Literary Society, both at Rossville.
She was a member of Home Demonstration Units at Hoyt and Rossville.
She married Joseph D. Barney Feb.
24, 1925, at Lawrence. He survives. A son, Dale Barney, died in 1969.
Other survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Josephine Barney Harkness, Silver Lake; a stepson, the Rev. Kenneth Barney, Springfield, Mo.; four grand¬children; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Silver Lake United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 5229 W. 7th, Topeka, 66606. Parker-Price Mortuary, Topeka, is in charge of arrange¬ments.
