Obituary- Marney, Glen 1

Glen D. Marney
ROSSVILLE — Glen Dollar Marney, 84, Rossville, died Friday, Aug. 19, 1994, at a hospital in Topeka.

He was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Rossville, the son of James S. and Jenney Fish Marney, and spent most of his life in Rossville. He was a carpenter and had worked in the Santa Fe Railway shops in Argentine before he retired.

He was baptized at the Christian Church in Rossville. He was a member of Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, in Silver Lake.

He was married to Ina Marian Nitzsche March 31, 1930, in Alma. She died Feb. 18, 1984. A granddaughter, Vickie Lyn Marney Gates, died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Dale, Apache Junction, Ariz.; three sons, Dean M. Marney, Kansas City, Mo., Laiten G. Marney, Great Falls, Mont., and Ralph Marney, Topeka; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Christian Church in Rossville. Lake Lodge No. 50, AF&AM, will conduct graveside services at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Marney will lie in State from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka where relatives and friends will meet from 3 to 4 p.m.

Glen D. Marney
Glen Dollar Marney, 84, Rossville, died Friday, August 19, 1994, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. He was born December 4, 1909, at Rossville, the son of James S. and Jenney Fish Marney. He had lived at Rossville most of his life.

Mr. Marney had been a carpenter and later worked in the Santa Fe Shops in Argentine before he retired.

He had been baptized in the Rossville Christian Church. Mr. Marney was a member of Lake Lodge #50, AF&AM at Silver Lake.

He was married to Ina Marian Nitzsche on March 31, 1930, at Alma. She died February 18, 1984.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Vickie Lyn Marney Gates, in 1990. She was 34.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Dale, Apache Junction, Ariz.; three sons, Dean M. Marney, Kansas City, Mo., Laiten G. Marney, Great Falls, Mont., and Ralph Marney, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Family received friends from 3:00 to 4:00 Sunday. His funeral service was at 10:00 Monday at the Rossville Christian Church, with Robert Sieh officiating. Lake Lodge #50, AF&AM conducted Masonic graveside services at the Rossville Cemetery.
