Obituary- Remer, Milton

Milton L. Remer
BURLINGTON -- Milton L. Remer, 92, Route 1, Burlington, was dead on arrival late Saturday, Sept. 20, at a Burlington hospital.

Mr. Remer was a retired farmer and stockman. He also had worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture 17 years.

He was born Sept. 28, 1893, northeast of Burlington, the son of Sherman and Ida Keiser Remer, and spent his life in the area.

Mr. Remer was a member of First Christian Church, Burlington Lodge No. 66, AFF&AM, Martha Chapter No. 73 of Order of Easter Star and Royal Arch Masons, all at Burlington.

He was married to Pearl E. Rutledge Nov. 24, 1918, at Lebo. She survives. A son, Sherman S. Remer, died in 1938.

Other survivors include four daughters: Mrs. Freda Mae Scott, Overland Park, Mrs. Eudora McMillen, Pacifica, Calif., Mrs. Wanda L. Woolpert, Topeka, and Mrs. Orpha Macha, Chesterfield, Mo.; a brother, Don Remer, Fort Smith, Ark.: seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Burlington. Burial will be in Stringtown Cemetery northeast of Burlington. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Jones Funeral Home in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
