A very special "Thanks" to our children for giving us a most perfect 50th wedding anniversary reception. You said, — "Mom and Dad, all we ask you to do is to show up! We'll do all the rest.'' You certainly did, and Mom and Dad are so proud of you.

You made us feel that, when God blessed us with you in our care, that we've done a good job. For there is nothing so quick to bring a tear to the eye, or a smile to the face — as your children.

Thanks and love,
A proud Mom and Dad
Phyllis and Clyde Miller

Sincere thanks to our family and the many friends who attended the 50th anniversary reception our children gave us at the Rossville American Legion Sunday afternoon, May 20.

This was a busy day for all with so many graduations at this time.

Thanks for sharing it with us, too. Your presence, along with the lovely cards and gifts, made our special day truly a perfect day. Thanks!
Clyde and Phyllis Miller

Golden Wedding
In the Potwin Presbyterian church on Wednesday, June 28, before a group of more than three hundred guests, Dr. and Mrs. Nelson renewed their wedding vows. The ceremony began with several organ pieces chosen by Mrs. Nelson, including "Beautiful Ohio," "Put On Your Old Gray Bonnet," and "Loves Old Sweet Song," and a solo "Because" sung by Beverly Ann Nelson, accompanied by her mother Mrs. Wilbur Nelson, who was the organist for the occasion.

To the strains of the wedding march, Dr. and Mrs. Nelson came from the pastor's study to their places before the platform banked with flowers predominantly gold and white. The Dr. A. Walton Roth, read the service and the Rev. Wilbur Nelson pronounced the benediction after which the bride and groom led the guests to the gymnasium in the church dining room. Here a receiving line headed by Harold and Ruth Nelson and made up of Dr. and Mrs. Nelson, Lewis Nelson and all their children and grandchildren formed to greet the guests.

Beverly Nelson, Harry and Charles Nelson, presided at the anniversary guest book with a golden cover, which all guests were urged to register.

Refreshments consisted of ice cream with strawberry dope made by Mrs. Nelson, cookies, punch and wedding cake.

At the close of the reception, a set of reed porch furniture with rug was presented by the church and a lace table cloth by the church and a reproduction of Hofman's "Head of Christ" was given by the Topeka Presbytery. After Mrs. Nelson cut the wedding cake, the wedding party again went to the church auditorium where a photographer took several pictures.

For the evening Mrs. Nelson wore a dotted Swiss white formal dress. The other women in the wedding party wore formals in various shades.

After several days of very hot weather the heat broke on the day of the party, this adding to the enjoyment of the occasion.
