Word has been received of the death of Marion F. Crosson of Manzanola, Colo., on December 29. He and his family were former residents of the Rossville community, moving to Colorado in 1931.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cora Crosson of the home, three daughters, Mrs. Audrey Johanson, 2608 3rd Av., Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Evelyn Pinnell, Manzanola, Colo., and Miss Frances Crosson, 219 W. 1st, Denver., Colo., and Herbert Crosson, Manzanola, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Hughes, Palo Alto, Calif.; two half-brothers, Herbert and Robert Crosson of St. Paul, Minn., and seven grandchildren. A daughter, Ruth, preceded him in death.
Funeral services and burial were in Manzanola.

Corrina Crosswhite
OZAWKIE – Matthew Raymond and Corrina Joy Crosswhite, twin infant son and daughter of Sarah L. Lentz and Darrell D. Crosswhite, died Monday, April 8, 1996, just hours after birth at a Kansas City, Mo. Hospital.
In addition to their parents, other survivors include two brothers, Darrell D. Crosswhite Jr. and Trinity N. Crosswhite, both of Silver Lake; grandparents, Raymond F. Crosswhite, Jacksonville, Fla., Georgia “Jo” McLain, Rossville, and Elmer and Paulette Lentz, Ozawkie; and great-grandparents, Naomi Crosswhite, Abington, Va., and Paul and Loise Taylor, Bolivar, Mo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Barnett Funeral home at Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery at Perry. Relatives and friends will meet from 1 p.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.

Mrs. Ada I. Crow, 79, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. F. Long, 1434 Tyler Street, Topeka.
Born in Erie County, Pennsylvania March 12, 1856, she came to Kansas in March, 1879, and settled at Dover. Two years later she moved with her husband, Marion W. Crow, to the West Union neighborhood, where they lived until 15 years ago. They lived in Rossville until August 20, 1934, when she moved to Topeka to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Long, following the death of her husband.
She united with the Methodist church when a girl and was a consistent worker in the church all her life. She was a member of the Rossville M. E. church at the time of her death.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Long, Topeka; three sons, L. B. Crow, Rossville; C. W. Crow, Silver Lake; and M. L. Crow, Willard; a sister, Mrs. E. O. Bigelow, Waterford, PA.; a brother, B. W. Baird, Manhattan; and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the West Union church, conducted by Rev. Wright Horton. Pallbearers were Harry Billings, Joe Stevens, Clarence Grant, John Stevens, Bert Miller and John Rogers. Music was furnished by a quartette of ladies from Rossville composed of Mrs. E. G. Griswold, Mrs. Arthur Wallerstedt, Mrs. D.E. Gresser and Mrs. Horton.
Burial was in the Valencia cemetery.

Mrs. Beulah Crow, 59, of San Francisco, died Friday in a San Francisco hospital after a year’s illness.
She was born in Kansas City and lived there until 1946. She was a former employee of the Sears, Roebuck and Co. there and was a member of the Centropolis Baptist Church in San Francisco.
She is the daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Crow of Rossville.
She leaves her husband, Charles M. Crow of the home; three brothers, Connely O. Fairchild, Raytown, Mo., Robert L. Fairchild, Kansas City, and Harold Fairchild, Phoenix, Ariz.; four sisters, Mrs. Jewel Poston and Mrs. Betty Wicker, both of San Francisco, Mrs. Margaret Clarke, Phoenix, and Mrs. Jean Baker, Santa Monica, Calif.
Funeral services and burial were Tuesday in San Francisco.

Calvin D. Crow, 66, Carbondale, died Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at Kansas City North Hospital, Kansas City, MO.
He was born December 22, 1931, near Dover in Wabaunsee County, the son of Marion Lawrence and Lola G. Schlesser Crow.
He lived in Carbondale the past four years. He spent his early life in the Dover area and was graduated from Maple Hill High School in 1949. He had lived in Rossville and Topeka before moving to Osage City in 1970. He was a farmer and had sold McNess Feeds and Moorman Feeds, and had been a John Deere implement salesman. He retired in 1994. He served three years in the United State Army. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 555 in Topeka.
He was married to Billie J. Waetzig, December 30, 1983, in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Donola Fairbanks, Delia, Debra Siebring, Osage City, and Denise Hersh, Topeka; two stepdaughters, Frances Boudreau and Beth Boudreau, both of Topeka; one son, Doug Crow, Emporia; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Crable Funeral Chapel in Osage City. His service was at 1:30 Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial was in Carbondale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Salvation Army and sent in care of the funeral home.

Carbondale – Calvin D. Crow, 66, Carbondale, died Wednesday, Jan 7, 1998, at a North Kansas City, MO. Hospital.
Mr. Crow farmed and had sold McNess Feeds and Mooreman Feeds. He had been a salesman for a John Deere implement dealership. He served in the Army for three years.

Douglas Lawrence Crow, 62, of Cottonwood Falls, passed away Sunday, September 11th at his home.
Doug was born November 24, 1959 in Wamego, Kansas, the son of Carolyn Jeannine Thompson and Calvin Dean Crow. Doug was raised in the Rossville and Delia communities. He graduated in 1977 from Rossville High School. While in high school he excelled as a wrestler and won multiple championships.
Doug was a successful Marketing Advisor for 28 years at Evco Wholesale in Emporia, KS. He took pride in his accomplishments while at Evco and enjoyed working with his customers and helping local businesses. In his free time, he took pleasure in going on walks, hiking, bicycling, home renovation projects, grilling and most of all spending time with his family. Doug had the best sense of humor and was a joy to be around. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his father Calvin Crow, his step father Charles E. "Ed" Thompson and his step-sister Lori Davis.
On December 4, 2019 he was married to Destiny Clark. She survives.
Other survivors are his four children, Amanda Crow, Ashley (Todd) Sage, Shelby (Dan) Dellaporta and Logan Crow. Grandchildren: Chloe Crow, Lane Sage, Kambry Sage and Ella Dellaporta. Mother: Carolyn Jeannine Thompson; sisters Donola (Doug) Fairbanks, Debra (Aaron) Sebring and Denise (Tim) Hersh; step-brother Bernie Thompson.
Services were held at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys on Saturday September 17, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Burial followed at Rossville Cemetery. |

Karen L. Crow, 51, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at her rural Delia home.
She was born June 5, 1963 at Topeka, the daughter of Jo¬seph and Dolores Dohrman Floersch. Karen attended Delia Grade School and graduated from Rossville High School in 1981. She attended Platt Busi¬ness College.
She was an insur¬ance agent for Farmers Crop Insurance. Karen was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia until it closed and was a current member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville.
Karen was preceded in death by her father Joe Floersch on August 13, 2003.
On May 6, 1989 she was united in marriage to Joe Crow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her two daughters, Kelsey and Makayla Crow both of the home; her mother, Dolores Floersch, Rossville; brother, John Floersch, Lawrence; sister, Kathy Olejnik, Rossville.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. Interment followed in Mt. Calvary Cem¬etery, St. Marys

Mrs. Lola G. Crow
OSAGE CITY – Mrs. Lola G. Crow, 86, formerly of 5000 Huntoon, Topeka, died late Friday, Feb. 17, at an Osage City nursing home.
Mrs. Crow worked at the Kansas Motor Vehicle Department in Topeka for several years after her husband died. She also had taught school for several years.
She was born Nov. 3, 1897, in a sod house near Agra in Phillips County, the daughter of Samuel L. and Mary Mae Blankenship Schiesser. She moved to Keene at an early age and was graduated from Maple Hill High School, then attended Emporia State Teachers College. She spent most of her life in the Willard community.
Mrs. Crow was a member of First Christian Church in Topeka and a former member of West Union Ladies Aid at Willard.
She was married to Marion Lawrence Crow March 16, 1922, at Topeka. He died Aug 14, 1953. An infant son, Marvin Eugene Crow, died Aug. 16, 1924.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Norma Hobson, Atlantic, Iowa; a son, Calvin Crow, Osage City; a sister, Mrs. Frances McKown, Topeka; five brothers, Glenn Schiesser and Dean Schiesser, both of Topeka, Ray Schiesser, Eskridge, Ike Schiesser, Keene, and Marvin Schiesser, Visalia, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Keene Cemetery west of Dover on K-4. Mrs. Crow will lie in state after 1 p.m. Monday at Crable Funeral Chapel in Osage City and an hour before service time at the church.

DOVER — Marion William "Bill" Crow, 72, Dover, died Monday, Aug. 5, 1996, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Crow was a farmer.
He was born July 21, 1924, near Dover, the son of Cary W. and Eunice Vivian Warner Crow. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1941.
Mr. Crow was a member of the Dover Federated Church and a former member of the Shawnee County Farm Bureau, Do¬ver Grange and the I.O.O.F. of Dover.
He married Joan Fritz in 1973. They were divorced.
Survivors include two sons. Cary Norman Crow and Jimmy Dean Crow, both of Maple Hill; three sisters, Ruth Banka, Dover, Ada Miller, Columbus, Ohio, and Mildred Page, Rossville; and three brothers, Neil Crow, Dover, Byron Crow, Topeka, and Alvin Crow, Maple Hill.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Dover Federated Church. Burial will be in Dover Cemetery. He will lie in state from 2 until 8 p.m. today at the Crable Funeral Chapel in Eskridge, where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 tonight.

Vivian was born July 15, 1925, in Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Robert Thorpe and Sarah Edmunds Thorpe. Vivian completed high school in Broken Bow, nurse training in North Platte and started working as an RN. She married George Crowl Jr. in 1948 and the two continued their careers in Kansas City and retired in Topeka. Vivian is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert, sister Naomi and husband George. She is survived by her son Stephen (Lynda) Crowl, grandson Spencer Crowl (Austin, Tx) and granddaughter Ashlee Crowl (Kansas City). MRS. MOLLIE CRUM DEAD
The people of Rossville were shocked at the announcement of the sudden death of Mrs. Mollie Crum nee Dennis, at her home near North Topeka last Saturday morning. She had retired Friday night in the best of health and spirits. Saturday morning she arose and dressed herself but complained of a faintness. Her husband assisted her to the door in order that she might breathe the fresh air but she sank and expired in his arms before assistance could be summoned.
Mrs. Drum was for a long time a resident of this city. Her first husband, Ben Dennis, died about two years ago from the effects of an accident while working on a building in North Topeka. Mrs. Dennis was married to Mr. E. G. Crum of Topeka last fall.
The body was shipped to Rossville last Monday accompanied by a large number of sympathizing friends. A short service was conducted by Rev. Nelson of the Presbyterian Church after which interment took place in the city cemetery.

ROSSVILLE — Charles G. Crupper Sr., 75, Rossville, died Monday, Aug. 26,1 996, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1920, in Nowata, Okla., the son of Willis P. and Elizabeth Parker Crupper. He spent his early life in Oklahoma before he moved to Dearing in Montgomery County. He lived in the Ross¬ville community many years. He worked for the Gas Service Co., in Topeka 22 years before he retired in 1982.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Pacific where he was a prisoner of the Japanese.
He was a member of Jimmie Lillard Post No. 31 of the American Legion in Rossville.
He was married to Virginia Kovar March 4, 1950, in Bentonville, Ark. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Charles G. Crupper Jr., Papillion, Neb.; four brothers, Arthur L. Crupper, Howard, Roy Neil Crupper, Portland, Ore., Joseph P. Crupper, Alexandria, Va., and Edward W. Crupper, Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Ramona B. Wierima, Vacolt, Wash.; a grandson and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. Charlie Company of First Engi¬neers at Fort Riley will conduct graveside services at Rossville Cemetery. Mr. Crup¬per will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Charles G. Crupper, Sr., 75, Rossville, died Monday, August 26, 1996, at his home.

His service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery, Charlie Company 1st Engineers, Ft. Riley will conduct the military graveside service.

Mrs. Culberth was the superintendent's secretary and Deputy Clerk of Silver Lake USD No. 372, Silver Lake.
She was born Sept. 19, 1949, at Clovis, N.M., the daughter of Robert J. and Joyce Pond Pemberton.
Mrs. Culberth was a member of Ross¬ville United Methodist Church.
She married Johnny L. Culberth on May 19, 1967, at Clovis, N.M. He survives
Other survivors include two daughters, Teresa Thompson, Fairfield, Idaho, and Cathy Culberth, Rossville; one son, Frank Drew Culberth III, Rossville; her parents, Robert J. and Joyce Pond Pemberton, Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Cathy Norris, Yuma, Az., and Dironda Middleton, Tope¬ka; and two grandsons.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rossville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. Cul¬berth will lie in state after 1 p.m. Monday at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Teresa Sue “Teri” Culberth, 47, Rossville, died Saturday, February 22, 1997, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
She was born September 19, 1949, in Clovis, N.M., the daughter of Robert J. and Joyce Pond Pemberton, She had lived in Clovis before moving to Rossville in 1988.
She was married to Johnny L. Culberth May 19, 1967, at Clovis, N.M. He survives.
Mrs. Culberth was a member of the Rossville United Methodist Church. She was secretary to the Superintendent and Deputy Clerk of Silver Lake U.S.D. #372 at Silver Lake.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Teresa Renee Thompson, Fairfield, Ida., and Cathy Gayle Culberth, Rossville; one son, Frank Drew Culberth III, Rossville; her parents, Robert J. and Joyce Pemberton, Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Cathy Norris, Yuma, Ariz., and Dironda Middleton, Topeka; and two grandsons.

 | Obituary- Cullen, John JOHN JOSEPH CULLEN
John Joseph Cullen, 43, a former resident of Rossville died July 20 at Needles, Calif., after he was stricken with a heart attack.
A resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Mr. Cullen was on his return home from a trip into Oregon when he died. He was born November 12, 1911, in Junction City. A veteran of World War II, he served three years in Japan and Korea. He was a shoe maker by trade.
He is survived by his wife, Eve Cullen of the home; four daughters, Carol Sue, Nancy Jean and Sarah Jane, all of the home; and Mrs. Jack McDermott, Wichita; and a sister, Mrs. Anne Holz of St. Marys.
Funeral services were held on Mon day morning at the Verschelden Funeral home with interment in St Patrick’s cemetery, Chapman.

 | Obituary- Cummings, Betty Betty M. Cummings, 78, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the St. Marys Manor.
She was born July 18, 1940 in Topeka the daughter of Oscar H. and Charlotte A. Hurla Bixby. She graduated from Rossville High School and lived in the Rossville community many years before moving to St. Marys.
She had worked at the Rossville Valley Manor several years. Betty was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church while living in Rossville. She was an amateur radio operator (NNVW). Betty made many wonderful friends while living at St. Marys Manor.
On November 26, 1960 she was united in marriage to Eric H. Hinterweger at Rossville. He died December 15, 1998. She later married Leonard L. Cummings on October 21, 2000 in St. Marys. He died March 6, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son, Danny Hinterweger on August 16, 2016.
Survivors include two sons, Jim (Jan) Hinterweger, Lebo and Mike (Lisa) Hinterweger, Overbrook; step sons, Bob (Kathy) Cummings, Belvue, Tim Cummings, Wamego and Mike (Melissa) Cummings in Florida; her daughter, Cindy (Kasey) Priddy, Silver Lake; step daughters, Lorye (Charlie) Armstrong, Wamego and Lisa (Aaron) Lyman, Topeka; sisters, Teresa Miller, Genevieve Jenssen and Patricia Bixby all of Rossville, 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Betty will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until the rosary at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Piper Funeral Home. Cornelius Darvin Cummings, 69, Rossville, died Sunday, December 10, 1995, at the Topeka Convalescent Center.
He was born June 21, 1926, at Mayetta, the son of John W. and Viola May Jones Cummings, and had lived in Rossville most of his life.
He graduated from Valley Falls High School. He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company 35 years. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Rossville, and the Rubber Works Local #307. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He married Lorraine Gail Lee April 24, 1951, at Mayetta. She survives. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark W. Cummings, on September 3, 1993.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Darvin Cummings, Willard; five daughters, Virginia S. Franklin and Sallie A. Kelley, Rossville, Gale Ellen McFarland, Carbondale, Alice Marie Andrick, Dover, and Amy Ruth Hill, Willard; five brothers, Gerald Cummings and Anthony Cummings, Topeka, Theodore Cummings, Hutchinson, Richard Cummings, Manhattan, and Leonard Cummings, St. Marys; five sisters, Theresa Prockish, Wichita, Mildred Schucker, Los Angeles, Calif., Margaret Cummings and Vera Cummings, Topeka; and Mary Ann Waltman, Paxico; 12 grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
He will lie in state Tuesday (today) at Parker-Price Mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening. His service is at 2:00 Wednesday at the mortuary; interment will be in Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.

Euna U. Cummings, age 85, of Meriden passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at a Topeka care home. She was born January 15, 1924 in Wauneta, KS the daughter of Eldon Davis and Bertha Canfield Davis. She graduated from Sedan High School. She had attended Assumption Catholic Church. Euna and her husband owned and operated Cummings Service Station. She worked as a seamstress for Topeka Tent & Awning and as a housekeeper at Motel 6. She married John Cummings November 28, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA. John preceded her in death in 1989. An infant daughter, Donna Sue Cummings preceded her in death in 1963. She is survived by seven sons, John Cummings (Andrea) and James Cummings (Linda) of Meriden, Dan Cummings (Therese) of Rockwall, TX, Leo Cummings (Julie) and Andy Cummings of Topeka, Charles Cummings (Marsha) of Netawaka, George Cummings (Geri) of Berryton; three daughters, Mary Corkhill of Manassas, Virginia, Carol Runnebaum (Dan) of Carbondale and Janice Long of Topeka; two sisters, Alta Tevis of Casper, WY and LaVerne Ward of Los Angeles, CA; 29 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Meriden. Interment will follow the Hoyt Catholic Cemetery. She will lie in state Sunday from 1:00 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home where a rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends following the rosary.  | Obituary- Cummings, Felix HOYT — Felix Virgil Cummings, 63, Hoyt, died Friday, Sept. 25, 1987, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Cummings worked nine years for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and had driven a bus for Hoyt public schools several years. He also was a self-employed plumber.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and had served in Company D, 28th Engineers Training Battalion, 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Division. He had been a prisoner of war.
He was born Dec. 12, 1923, at Mayetta, the son of Raymond and Minnie Marshall Cummings. He lived in the Hoyt community most of his life.
Mr. Cummings was a member of First Baptist Church of Hoyt and Mary L. Bair Post No. 44 of the American Legion and Holton Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1367, both at Holton.
He was married to Thelma Ent Oct. 8, 1943, at Dothan, Ala. She survives.
Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Romona Ward, Hoyt, Mrs. Darlene Owen, Brighton, Iowa, and Mrs. Kathleen Crispin and Mrs. Becky Davenport, both of Topeka; a son, Clinton Cummings, Titusville, Fla.; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Cummings, Chunchula, Ala.; four sisters, Mrs. Connie Gregg, Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Ruth Ann Sunseri, Carson City, Nev., Mrs. Rose Ellen Saathoff in Georgia, and Mrs. Mary Catherine Merchant, Chunchula, Ala.; four brothers, Gene Cummings, Casper, Wyo., Earl Cummings, Billings, Mont., Paul Cummings, Baldwin, and Ronald Cummings in Texas; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Mr. Cummings owned and operated the Mobil Service Station on US-24 in North Topeka many years. He also had worked four years for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., and for Seaman School District and was a bus driver for Topeka public schools.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served from Dec. 23, 1940, until Oct. 17, 1945. He served in North Africa.
He was born March 12, 1923, in Mayetta, the son of John William and Viola May Jones Cummings. He lived in Hoyt before he moved to Topeka in 1952.
Mr. Cummings was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and Capitol Post No. 1 of the American Legion, both in Topeka, and Knights of Columbus Council No. 7426 in Meriden.
He was married to Euna U. Davis Nov. 28, 1944, in Los Angeles. She survives. A daughter, Donna Sue Cummings, died in 1963.

St. Marys—Karen Kathleen “Kathy “ Cummings, 54, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 from injuries she sustained in an auto accident.
She was born July 10, 1965 in Topeka, the daughter of the late David J. “Joe” and Karen A. Miller Schoemann. Kathy grew up in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1983.
Kathy had been a CNA at the St. Marys Manor; she had worked at the B&B Café and Bernie’s, TRA and later at Andax Industries all in St. Marys. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys.
On August 22, 1987 she was united in marriage to Robert L. “Bob” Cummings in St. Marys. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her two sons, Ryan Cummings, Belvue and Shawn (Amira) Cummings, Manhattan; two brothers, David Schoemann, St. Marys and Scott (Daphne) Schoemann, Belvue; two grandchildren, Keaton and Brynlee Cummings, several nieces and nephews.

Leonard L. Cummings 81, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the St. Marys Manor.
He was born March 21, 1936 at Mayetta the son of John and Viola Jones Cummings. Leonard was one of 13 children, John, Francis, Cornelius, Gerald, Theodore, Anthony Richard, Vera, Theresa, Millie, Margaret and Mary. He grew up on the reservation and gradu¬ated from Mayetta High School and joined the Navy Reserves as a senior.
Leonard worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka from 1954 until his retirement in 1992. He had coached the youth of St. Marys in softball, baseball and basketball. Leonard was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Council No. 657 of the Knights of Columbus in St. Marys. He was an avid KU Jayhawk fan.
He was united in marriage to Joanne K. Bellinder on June 11, 1960. She preceded him in death on October 20, 1998. He married Betty Hinterweger on October 21, 2000, she survives. He was also preceded in death by a son, William J. “Bill" Cummings on March 24, 2004 and a step-son, Danny Hinterweger on August 16, 2016.
Other survivors include sons, Bob (Kathy) Cummings, Belvue, Tim Cummings, Wamego, Mike (Melissa) Cummings, in Florida; step¬sons, Jim (Jan) Hinterweger, Lebo, Mike (Lisa) Hinterweger, Overbrook; daughters, Lorye (Charlie) Armstrong, Wamego and Lisa (Aaron) Lyman,

She was a graduate of Seaman High School and attended Washburn University. Lorraine married Cornelius D. Cummings. He preceded her in death.
She was a registered dietician for Rossville Valley Manor, retiring after 17 years of service.
Survivors include one son, Michael; four daughters, Sallie Kelley, Ellen McFarland, Alice Andrick and Amy Rajewski; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pfc. John V. Cunningham, twenty-five-year-old infantryman whose two brothers and four sisters have served in World War II, was killed in action in Germany March 24, the War Department has notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Cunningham, Delia.
Formerly employed by the Union Pacific Railroad, Private Cunningham entered service in August, 1944, and went overseas in December after taking basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark.
Besides his parents, Cunningham is survived by three brothers, Staff Sgt. James C. Cunningham and Corp. David G. Cunningham, now in Germany, and Rafael of Delia; and four sisters, Lieut. Delia A. Cunningham, Seattle, Wash., and Lieut. Lenore Cunningham, New Orleans, La., of the Army Nurse Corps; Mrs. Philip V. Farrell and Mrs. Chester F. Singer of Topeka, both of whom have served in the ANC.
Memorial services will be held at 8 a. m. Sunday in the Sacred Heart Church in Delia.

Patrick J. Cunningham, 88, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Williams, of Silver Lake, Saturday night. He was horn in County Mayo Ireland, March 12, 1849, and came to Kansas in 1870, living on a farm in Jefferson county until 1903, when he moved to a farm near Silver Lake. He retired from the farm in 1914, moving to Topeka, where he resided until four years ago when he came to make his home with his daughter.
Surviving him are Charles W. Cunningham, of Nortonville; Mrs. C.D. Williams of Silver Lake; William J. Cunningham and Mrs. Agnes Neiswender, of Topeka; twenty-eight grandchildren and fourteen greatgrandchildren.
The body lay in state at the Williams home in Silver Lake until the funeral hour, 9 o’clock Tuesday morning. Services were held at the Holy Name Church, Topeka. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery.

Raphael M. “Ray” Cunningham, 77, Topeka, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born May 31, 1928 in Delia, the son of James C. and Catherine L. Diehammer Cunningham.
He was a 1946 graduate of Delia High School. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He first retired from the Teamsters Local 696 and later retired from Washburn University.
Raphael married Wilma J. Douglas on June 18, 1955 in Big Delta, AK, She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Terri Hearrell, Topeka; a son, Gary Cunningham, Topeka; a brother, Jim Cunningham, Topeka; and five granddaughters.
His service was at 1 p.m. Thursday at University United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Penwell-Gabel’s Memorial Park Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka.

Vicki Elaine Cunningham, 72, Topeka, passed away Friday, August 25,2017, at Stormont-Vail Health Center surrounded by her family.
Vicki was born May 10,1945, in Topeka, the daughter of Edward and Rosemary McElvain Cunningham. She attended Assumption Grade School and graduated from Hayden Catholic High School in 1963. Vicki was a prominent realtor in Topeka for 45 years. She began her real estate career in 1972 and worked for several companies before finishing her career with Reece Nichols. Her deep business and personal relationships remain strong to this day. Vicki was an active member of First Church of Christ Scientist and she served on the board of Helping Hands Humane Society. Vicki enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends. She was greatly loved and left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Grateful to have shared her life are her nephew, Jon Cunningham; niece, Dana Cunningham; grandniece, Allie Cunningham; grandnephew, Brandon Cunningham and sister- in-law, Vicki J. Cunningham.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and her broth¬er, Thomas Cunningham in 2013.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
A graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Topeka.

Mr. Cunningham was a part owner of the present Delia townsite when it was opened for sale ten years ago. The name Delia being taken in honor of his mother. The funeral was held yesterday at Delia and interment made in the Delia cemetery. |

She was born September 12, 1888, at Vesta, Nebr., the daughter of William L. and Martha Crouse Adams.
Mrs. Curran lived in the Mayetta community since moving from the Delia and Hoyt communities in 1945.
She was married to John C. Curran June 4, 1921. He died January 21, 1967.

Donald E. Curran, 82, of rural Lawrence, died May 14, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Delia, Kansas on September 9, 1932, the son of Jennings and Beulah (Hurla) Curran.
Donald served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired in 1994 from the Lawrence Paper Company where he had been a forklift operator.
He married Sharon Houk at St. Peter’s Church in Big Springs on June 4, 1960. She survives. He is also survived by his children, Laura Warner of Lawrence, Randy Ponaid E. (Becky) Curran of Carbondale, KS, Curran jeff (joyce) curran of Garden City, KS, Christy Curran and Don Curran II, both ol Lawrence, 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers, John and Phillip Curran, three sisters, Rosemary Gosser, Elizabeth Beavers and Joyce Wilson. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Bob Curran and two sisters, Mary Kent and Donna DeWitt.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be cel¬ebrated on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the St. Peter’s Cemetery at Big Springs.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St Peter's Catholic Church at Big Springs for Jennings M. Curran, 69, Lecompton, who was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Tuesday.
Dr. Antonio Huaman, deputy district coroner, said Mr. Curran had a heart ailment.
Jennings Curran was born April 17, 1900, at Dawson, Neb. He lived in the Rossville and Delia communities before he moved to Topeka. He lived in Topeka 13 years and spent the past 12 years at Lecompton.
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church at Big Springs. He was employed by Santa Fe Railway before he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beulah Curran, at home; five sons, Joseph Curran and Phillip Curran, both at home, Donald Curran, Lawrence, John Curran, Lecompton, and Robert Curran, 736 Forest; five daughter, Mrs. Mary Kent, Sherman, Tex., Mrs. Rosemary Gosser, North Highland, Ca., Mrs. Elizabeth Beavers, 3205 Wisconsin, Mrs. Donna DeWitt, 1615 Clay, and Joyce Curran, at home; three sisters, Mrs. Phebe Burgett and Lucy Curran, both of Delia, and Mrs. Mary Stanfill, Seattle, Wa.; and 26 grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery at Big Springs. Mr. Curran will lie in state from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Brennan Funeral Home where parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.

John Corneilous Curran, son of Robert Emmett and Martha Ann (Dike) Curran, died January 21, 1967 at the K.U. Medical Center.
He was born November 26, 1893. He died at the age of 73 years, 1 month, 3 weeks and 4 days. He was born in Richardson County, Nebraska, and moved to Hope, Kansas at the age of 16, came to Jackson County at the age of 28. On June 14, 1922 he was united in marriage to Bettie Adams. They lived in the Delia, Hoyt, and Mayetta communities all of his life where he was engaged in farming.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie, of the home. Two sons William and wife Maxine, Holton; John, of the home and one daughter, Betty Buehler and husband Eldon, Mayetta. There were ten grandchildren. Three sisters, Phebe Ellen Burgett, Delia; Mary Emily Stanfill, Seattle, Washington and Lucy Alice Curran of Delia. One brother Jennings Mark, Lecompton and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph Edgar and William Halden and one sister Sarah (Sadie) Agatha Cannon. He was a loving father and grandfather and had enjoyed good health all his life
Services held at Mercer Funeral Home, Holton, with Father Hayes officiating, at 1:30, Tuesday, January 24, 1967. Burial in the U.B. cemetery southwest of Delia.
Pallbearers were Milton Daugherty, Myron Wells, Cecil Wells, Arthur Eby, Henry Bruckens, and Raymond Burns. Flower ladies were Mrs. Milton Daughtery and Mrs. Cecil Wells.
Vocal music was furnished by Mrs. Grace Amon accompanied Mrs. Dean Stous.

HOLTON- John F. Curran, 91, of Holton, KS passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born May 31, 1925 in Delia, KS the son of John C. and Bettie (Adams) Curran.
John was a lifelong member of the Holton community. He graduated from Denison High School. John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Forbes Supply Depot in shipping and receiving department, retiring in 1974.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Jane Buehler and a brother, William R. Curran.
Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews, Connie Renfro (Dale), Mike Curran (Geneva), Martha Dreitzler (Don), Cyndy Degand (Jim), Teresa Curran, Tracy Curran, Karen Beightel (Gordon), Tom Buehler, Rick Buehler and Lisa Buehler and many great-nieces and nephews.
