    In an afternoon ceremony Sunday. August 11, in the Rossville United Methodist Church, Miss Jeline Doris Kelsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Kelsey, Rossville, became the bride of Mr. John Bruce Harclerode, Dickinson, Tex. The Rev. Paul Mitchell, Hiawatha, officiated at the 3:00 service.

    Miss Meredith Solomon, Eskridge, was organist and accompanied Mrs. Marguerite Williams, Delia, who sang “Sometimes” and “Pass It on.”

    Preceding the ceremony, Mr. Tim Townsend, Topeka, and Francis Kelsey, Silver Lake, cousins of the bride, lighted the tapers.

    The bride wore a gown of silk organza accented with chantilly lace and seed pearls. It was fashioned with an empire bodice, scoop neckline with a lace ruffle, and long lace sleeves. The skirt was accented with an attached train, deep flounce trimmed in matching lace, swept into a chapel length. A Juliet head piece of embroidered lace and pearls held tier fingertip-length veil edged in lace. She carried a small white Bible with a cascade of yellow roses and white daisies.

    Mrs. Gaye Iwig, Lafayette, Ind., was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Cheryl Huff, Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Sheila Stueve, Topeka; Miss Dee Walter, Riley; and Mrs. Denise Harclerode, Finley A.F.S., North Dakota. They each wore pink, yellow apricot, mint green and lavender long dresses, and carried bouquets of pastel daisies.

    Mr. Scott Harclerode, Finley A.F.S., North Dakota, was best man for his brother. The groomsmen were Mr. Rick Kelsey, brother of the bride, and Mr. Terry Harclerode, Mr. Craig Harclerode, and Mr. Martin Harclerode, brothers of the groom, from Dickinson, Tex.

    The flower girl was Donna Townsend, cousin of the bride from Kansas City. She wore a light blue long dress. Jereme Wise, Kansas City, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.

    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. The reception table, was centered with a three tiered wedding cake decorated by the bride’s cousin, Mrs. Linda Wise of Kansas City. Mrs. Wise cut the cake, and was assisted at the reception table by Miss Connie Townsend, Topeka, and Miss Becky Kelsey, Silver Lake, also cousins of the bride. Miss Cindy Flores, Humboldt, was in charge of the guest book. Mr. Tommy Joe Townsend and Mr. Billy Jim Townsend, Topeka, cousins of the bride, gave rice bags to the wedding guests.

    Ushers were Mr. Stan Birkbeck, Burlington, Mr. Jim Browning and Mr. Gary Wiens of Emporia. Their wives, Mrs. Birkbeck, Mrs. Browning, and Mrs. Wiens were in charge of the gifts.

    Mrs. Harclerode is a graduate of Rossville High School and of Baker University, and received her Master’s degree in Special Education from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia. She is teaching a class for the trainable mentally retarded at Emporia High School.

    Mr. Harclerode is a graduate of Neodesha High School and Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is teaching biology at Emporia High School.

    Following a honeymoon in Colorado, the couple is at home at 1722 Rural, Emporia, Ks.
