    DAYTON-KOVAR VOWS READ
    Judith Kathleen Dayton became the bride of Oren Dean Kovar during a 7:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony in the Rossville United Methodist Church, Rossville, June 17.

    The Rev. Paul Mitchell officiated.

    Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Dayton, Rossville, and Mrs. Ella E. Kovar, Rossville, and the late Clyde Kovar.

    The bride fashioned her own gown of white organza over satin featuring an Empire waist, Juliet sleeves and detachable train trimmed with flowered lace. A headpiece of silk flowers held her veil and she carried a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses, white Fuju mums and stephanotis.

    Mrs. Nancy Brooks, Ross¬ville, was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Dennis Bass, Corpus Christi, Tex., a cousin of the bride, and nieces of the bride Cheryl Dayton, Yorba Linda, Calif., and Cindy Brooks, Rossville. Flower girl was Ellen Dayton, niece of the bride. Tapers were lighted by nieces of the bride, Debbie Brooks, Rossville, and Laurie Dayton, Yorba Linda, Calif.

    Eugene Kovar, Rossville, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Warren Graves, Rossville, and brothers of the bride, Rick Dayton, Rossville, and Dan Dayton, Liberal. A brother of the bride, John Dayton, Overland Park, and Bob Wehner and Dennis Tuller, both of Rossville, seated the guests. The ring bearer was Rodney Falk, Rossville.

    Pam Dayton, Yorba Linda, Calif., niece of the bride, was guest book hostess. Gifts were received by Miss Kathy Trost, Concordia.

    A reception in the church hall followed the ceremony. Reception hostesses were sisters-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Ron Dayton, Yorba Linda, Calif., Mrs. John
    Dayton, Overland Park, Mrs. Dan Dayton, Liberal, and Mrs. Rick Dayton, Rossville.

    A wedding dance at the Moravian Hall followed the reception.

    The bride is a graduate of Rossville High School and Washburn University. She is a second grade teacher at Rossville Grade School.

    Mr. Kovar is a graduate of Rossville High School and is employed by General Foods Corp.

    Following a wedding trip to the Ozarks the couple is at home in Rossville.

    A plasticware shower at the Rossville Community Center will honor Kathy Dayton, bride-elect of Oren Kovar, Friday evening. Hostesses will be Mrs. Howard Hill and Mrs. Warren Graves. The couple will be married June 17.

    The engagement of Judith Kathleen Dayton to Oren Dean Kovar is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.G. Dayton, Rossville. Mr. Kovar is the son of Mrs. Ella Kovar, Rossville, and the late Clyde Kovar.

    Miss Dayton is a graduate of Rossville High School and Washburn University. She is teaching second grade at Rossville Grade School.

    Mr. Kovar is a graduate of Rossville High School and is engaged in farming.

    A June wedding is planned.
