    Cummings-McFarland Vows Exchanged

    Miss Gale Ellen Cummings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Cummings of Rossville, became the bride of James I. McFarland April 5, 1974, in a candlelight ceremony at the Rossville Christian Church. Mr. Bob Sieh, pastor, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

    Ellen was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore her mother’s wedding dress and carried a bouquet of white daisies, yellow sweetheart roses, and baby’s breath.

    Sue Cummings was maid of honor. Alice Mary Cummings was junior bridesmaid, and Amy Cummings was flower girl. The girls wore yellow dotted swiss over taffeta gowns and white lace pictures. Each carried a daisy bouquet.

    John Nye was best man. Ire Kelley, brother-in-law of the bride, and Rick McFarland, brother of the groom, were ushers. Ring bearer was Teddy Langdon.

    Preceding the ceremony, the tall tapers were lighted by Miss Rhonda Lea Berry and Miss Debra Smith. They wore lavender dotted swiss gowns with white lace picture hats. Their flowers were daisies.

    Janice Miers played organ selections before and during the ceremony. Wayne Cummings, brother of the bride, sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “The Wedding Song.”

    A reception at the church parlor immediately following the cere¬mony was served by Mrs. Ire Kelley, Shelly Conklin, Terry Houck, Terry Dugan, Nancy Rezac, Rhonda Berry and Debra Smith.

    After a honeymoon trip to Galveston Bay, the young couple is at home at 4813 South Topeka in Topeka, Ks.

    Mr. McFarland, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond McFarland of Pomona, is employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Topeka as a mechanic’s apprentice.

    Mr. and Mrs. C.D. Cummings, Rossville, Ks., announce the engagement of their daughter, Gale Ellen Cummings, to James I. McFarland, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.A. McFarland of Pomona, Ks.

    Miss Cummings is a graduate of Rossville High School. Mr. McFarland, a graduate of Pomona High School, is an apprentice mechanic at Goodyear Tire Company in Topeka.

    The couple plans an early spring wedding.
