    Johnson-Peterson Vows Solemnized

Susan Sally Johnson became the bride of Christopher L. Peterson in the Silver Lake United Methodist Church June 19 at 5:30 p.m. Cousins of the bride’s father, the Rev. Oliver Lindeblad, Hutchinson, and the Rev. Bertil Gustafson, Savonburg, officiated at the ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord G. Johnson, Silver Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Peterson, Lombard, Ill.

The bride designed her gown which was made by her mother. It was fashioned of candlelight peau de soie overlaid with organza. The Empire bodice featured a Victorian neckline, scalloped Chantilly lace bib and sheer bishop sleeves with lace cuffs. Lace appliques encircled the skirt which extended into a train. A floral bandeau held her veil, and she carried a bouquet of ivory roses, stephanotis, baby’s breath, purple statice and bachelor buttons with a handkerchief her mother had carried at her wedding.

Mrs. Bernard Robison, Silver Lake, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Pauletta Powell. Flower girl and ring bearer were Jennifer Hof and James Hof, both of Mason City Iowa. Candlelighters were Linda Prochaska, Manhattan, and Sandra Garanson.

Michael Peterson, Lombard, served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were John Fischer, Rochester, N.Y., and Al Nucci, South Bend, Ind. Ushers were Howard Hof, Mason City, and Ronald Lilley, Silver Lake.

A lawn buffet at the home of the bride’s parents followed the church reception.

The couple is at home at C-220 Hepburn, Bloomington, Ind.

Mrs. Peterson is a graduate of Silver Lake High School. She attended Kansas State University where she will receive her degree in family economics. Mr. Peterson is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in bacteriology. He is doing graduate work in microbiology at Indiana University on a fellowship.
