The vows were read at 10 a.m. July 22 by the Rev. John Croughwell. Greg DeVader and Jerry McGrath, brother of the bride, were servers. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Joe A. McGrath, Emmett. Mr. Wehner is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Wehner, Rossville. The bride wore a floor-length Empire gown of silk organza over peau de soie trimmed with re-embroidered Chantilly lace motifs and bands of venise lace, The chapel train, was fastened at the waist with two small bows. Her fingertip-length veil was caught to a forward cluster of organza petals edged with seed pearls and crystals. She carried a cascade of red roses. Mrs. James McGrath, Topeka, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Patty McGrath, sister of the bride, and Delores Boling. Rhonda Liening, Topeka, was flower girl, and Jay McGrath, Topeka, was ring bearer. Bob Wehner, Rossville, was his brother’s best man and groomsmen were the bride’s brother, Jim McGrath, Topeka, and Tom Meyer St. Marys. Ushers were Carl Farley, Rossville, and Terry Ungenheuer, Maple Hill. A reception in the church hall followed the ceremony. After a short wedding trip the couple is at home at 431 Pearl, Rossville. The bride is a graduate of St. Marys High School. Mr. Wehner, a graduate of Rossville High School; attended Kansas State College of Pittsburg. He is employed as manager of Wehner’s IGA and Western Auto in Rossville.

Wehner, St. Marys, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary at a reception and dance from 7 p.m. to midnight July 21 at the Citizen Pottawatomie Nation Community Building on E. US-24 Highway in Rossville. Hosts will be their children, John P. and Jaime Wehner, Rossville; Cindy and Mike Schmersey, Rossville; Kate and Zac Miller, McPherson; Jodi Wehner, Rossville; and grand¬daughters Jordan and Jenna Wehner, Rossville. The couple were married on Saturday, July 22,1967, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Emmett, Kan. They reside at 1105 N. 6th, St. Marys, KS, 66536. Friends and family are welcome. No gifts please, only your presence.
