| Bridal Shower- Lasswell, Irene Marvin Davis and his bride were the honor guests at a social hour following band practice Tuesday evening at the high school auditorium. The family of each band member was invited. Ice cream and cake were served. |

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lasswell of Havensville announce the. marriage of their daughter, Irene, to Mr. Marvin Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Davis of this community.
The wedding was quietly solmenized Sunday, May 17, at the home of Reverend IL L. Nelson in Topeka. The only attendants were the bride’s sister, Miss Lottie Lasswell and Mr. Gayle Foster of Manhattan.
The bride was prettily attired in a white crepe dress and picture hat with matching accessories, and carried Talisman roses.
The bridesmaid wore a beautiful pink dress, picture hat, with matching accessories and carried American Beauty roses.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Davis attended college at Manhattan. Mr. Davis is affiliated with the Phi Mu Alpha honorary music fraternity. Mrs. Davis has been one of Shawnee county’s school teachers for the past two years.
They will reside on a farm one mile north of Rossville.
The Reporter wishes to add its congratulations and best wishes to those from Marvin’s host of friends for a long and happy married life.
The newly weds were noisly yet pleasantly surprised when about 50 from the district south of Topeka, where Mrs. Davis taught, came out with cow bells, tin cans and gave the couple a real old-fashioned charivari.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis, Rossville, will celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary Sunday, May 16, at their home.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 5 p.m. The couple requests no gifts.
Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Davis, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Davis.

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Davis, Rossville, will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception to be given by their children and grandchildren on Sunday, May 18, 1986, in the fellowship hall of the Rossville Presbyterian Church from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Their children are Roy and Phyllis Davis, Dean and Marlene Davis, and Gene and Trudi Davis, all of Rossville, The Davises have seven grandchildren.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend the reception and the couple asks only for the gift of your presence at this very important event in their lives.
Marvin Davis and Irene Lasswell were married May 17, 1936, in Topeka. They have lived on the farm near Rossville since they were married.
