    Sages to Celebrate
    40th Anniversary
    Mr. and Mrs. Austin Sage, Willard, will observe their 40th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 28, at the Dover Grade School. Hosts will be their children, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Sage and Arietta Smith and their families.

    Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests that no gifts be presented.

    Mr. and Mrs. Sage were married February 11, 1942, in Topeka and have lived in the Dover, Rossville and Willard communities.

    Anniversary
    Austin and Luella Sage will be honored with a reception for their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday, February 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rossville Community Center.

    Hosts will be their children and families: Gene and Arietta Nichols, Melvin and Loretta Sage, and Luella's mother, Mrs. Hazel Olson.

    The Sages have five grandchildren, one stepgranddaughter, three great-grandsons, and two stepgreat-grandsons.

    Austin is retired from Washburn University after 27 years, where he was chief of maintenance and groundskeeper. Luella is retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital, where she was the Canteen Services cook. Austin and Luella were married February 11,1942, in Topeka. They have lived all of their married life in the Rossville, Dover and Willard communities.

    Hosts will be their children, Arletta Nichols, Rossville, and Melvin Sage, Willard. Also hosting will be Yvonne Church, Delia; Yolande Bennett, Topeka, and Yvette Matyak, Wakarusa.

    Austin “Auty” Sage and Luella Olson were married Feb. 11, 1942, in Topeka. Mr. Sage retired as head groundskeeper for Washburn University and Mrs. Sage is a retired canteen cook for the Veterans Administration hospital. They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
