    The friends of Miss Lydia Dean and Charles Berkey, Jr. were surprised to learn that they were married several weeks ago at Topeka. The happy event was looked for but they were not expected to "steal a march" on their friends.

    Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berkey of Rossville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, September 29th. They will be assisted by their son, Mr. Don Berkey and his wife, their grandson, Mr. Curtis Berkey and his wife and their granddaughter, Miss Pam Berkey. The couple were married on September 24, 1913 in
    Topeka, Kansas. No invitations are being issued, but friends and relatives are asked to call between the hours of 2 and 5. The couple request their be no gifts.
