Documents » Slide Show		Marriage- Kovar, Viola-Gideon, Garland KOVAR—GIDEON Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kovar announce the marriage of their daughter Viola to Mr. Garland Gideon of Emmett. The wedding was quietly solemnized Tuesday, March 3, at 6 p. m. at the Severns home in Utica, Nebr. The ceremony was read by Rev. Louis T. Kovar, a brother of the bride, now pastor of Utica, Presbyterian church. The bride was both lovely and attractive in a formal white gown with matching accessories and carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Gideon grew to womanhood in the vicinity of Rossville and Delia, and the groom is a prosperous farmer and grew to manhood in the vicinity of Emmett. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gideon. Mr. and Mrs. Gideon left for a three weeks honeymoon trip to the Ozarks, Texas, Gulf of Mexico and Old Mexico. After their return they will reside on a farm near Emmett A 6 o’clock, wedding dinner was served the newlyweds at the Louis Kovar home in Utica, Neb.
		Anniversary- Gideon, Garland and Viola 1 Gideons to celebrate 40th anniversary A 40th wedding anniversary reception will honor Mr. and Mrs. Garland Gideon, Paxico, Sunday, March 7 in their home. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The couple requests that no gifts be presented. Hosts will be their children, Arnold Gideon and Mrs. Dianne Dick and their families.
		Anniversary- Gideon, Garland and Viola 2 Gideons Will Celebrate Golden Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Garland Gideon, Paxico, will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a reception to be given by their children and grandchildren from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 1986, in the fellowship hall of the Community Church in Maple Hill. Hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Gideon, Paxico; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Dick, Rossville, and their families. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Garland and Viola ask only for the gift of your presence. Garland Gideon and Viola Kovar were married March 3, 1936, at Hastings, Nebr. by Viola’s brother, the Rev. Louis J. Kovar. They have lived at Paxico since 1943. Garland and Viola have six grandchildren and a great-grandson.
		Anniversary- Gideon, Garland and Viola 3 Viola and Garland Gideon Garland and Viola Gideon, rural Paxico, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary March 3. Garland R. Gideon and Viola Kovar were married March 3, 1936, in Utica, Neb. They are the parents of Arnold L. and De Ann Gideon of Paxico and Dianne and Wayne G. Dick of Rossville. They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Gideon is retired from farming and raised broadbreasted bronze turkeys and registered Hereford cattle. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Alma and Scottish Rite Bodies in Topeka. Mrs. Gideon is a homemaker and was active in Wabaunsee County Extension Service home demonstration units. Both were active in 4-H Club work with youth. They are members of Loyal Chapter of Order of Eastern Star in Silver Lake.
